  1. There are plenty of YouTube videos that break down the lingering will's moves piece by piece. This video by everglades is the most in depth and might help you. It's mainly a matter of learning its each and every attack. https://youtu.be/CGIaJ6TJA4w Alternatively, there is an exploit that allows you to beat it with minimal effort though some may see it as cheating. It is a great way to farm him though. Essentially you unequivocally all finishers and combo boosts, equip negative combo and use fenrir so all your attacks are just finishers. Then once you are able to hit him. Jump and attack once over and over. He won't be able to retaliate. https://youtu.be/mrAlH-A36cw
  2. I'm glad someone made a thread for complaints! I may love this series but I'm also one heck of a nitpicker. Please don't hold that against me! I did enjoy 0.2 a lot, but there were problems I had with it. First off, yes the bosses were poorly designed and the difficulty (in my opinion) was terribly balanced. The lack of variation with the bosses seemed incredibly lazy. Attempting to block or dodge did not prevent me from taking damage and the block apparently either lags or has a cool down. The game really tried to sell the situation commands, but there were far to few of them in the game and it really wasn't "situational". Reaction commands from Kingdom Hearts 2 seemed more situational as they were different and specific to certain enemies and weren't based on which attacks you were using. I also had some minor problems with the graphics. While for the most part I loved the new look, I had a couple of issues. First off, Mickey does not translate well onto the new engine. I think it may just be the way his nose and mouth are shaped and positioned. Secondly, Sora's character model irked me. Honestly I don't know why that is as Riki and Kairi's didn't bother me nearly as much. Though I do think some models retained to much of the "plastic like" look that was being complained about over the summer. Lastly, some of the reflected light was too harsh in my opinion and the white particle effects in Aqua's finisher had these red and blue edges like old timey 3D. It sort of made me nauseous. Next is one of the issues that's always bothered me the most about Kingdom Hearts, not completely lip syncing all the dialogue. In the original games the lower quality facial animations made sense, but as technology progressed it seemed more and more like laziness. I thought that with the switch to the new engine that they'd finally put the proper care in to lip sync all of the lines to the dialogue but they still decided to take short cuts and had characters flapping their gums randomly in a few scenes. This might just be me, but I had many loading problems. Often after cutscenes or boss battles the next area/scene wouldn't load and I'd have to reset the game. This happened to me over a dozen times, though that was before the most recent patch so I am unsure whether or not it has been fixed. The story was unfortunately too short and I was hoping we'd get to see more from Aqua and the other characters. It was unfortunate that Riku and Mickey are to be the ones to rescue Aqua as I had always imagined based on the ending of Birth by Sleep and the opening of 0.2 that Sora would be the one to do it. Also, just new clothes in those suitcases Mickey and Riku had? That was quite an unessessary tease as when footage of that was shown in the trailers I expected it to be something important. Mickey's excuse for not telling anyone about Aqua was not very well thought out in my opinion. Lastly, I had a problem with one or two of the voices. I personally love Willa Holland as the voice of Aqua but she's really hit or miss. In some scenes she's good and in others she doesn't do the best job. I'm really hoping in future appearances she can outshine her previous performances. Jason Dohring did a much better job as Terra this time around. I'm legitimately surprised. Finally, an issue with Alyson Stoner. Her performance was great and I could tell that she was trying. She just doesn't sound enough like Hayden Panettiere to make a convincing Kairi and this, like the lip sync problem, really took me out the moment when watching cutscenes. I have nothing against her as a person. I'm curious to see if anyone else agrees with me. It might seem like a bit too much, but I suppose I just have very high expectations for my favorite game series.
  3. I've played them all. Originals and remixes included. I have not finished all of them though. I have no plans to finish unchained X due to personal reasons and I've yet to finish Re:Com. Have made many attempts to get through it but I always got lazy and quit. I'm actually working on it again now though just to say I did and cause I care about trophies way more than I thought.
  4. I think the best thing with Mickey Mouse in it is the current "Mickey Mouse Show" (2013). The shorts for this are funny, adorable, and have a very cute style with cameos from characters in Disney films. The guy who voices Mickey in these, Chris Diamantopoulos gives Mickey these real emotions that I don't see in other iterations. Mickey in a lot of modern depictions is an always positive guy who can do no wrong. You rarely if ever see him display anger or sadness and so he is perceived by me in these modern depictions as fairly one dimensional. In these new shorts, Mickey has a personality. He feels more relatable because he's flawed. Plus they're just freaking adorable.
  5. I don't expect them or necessarily want them to add anything new. It's more of a matter of disappointment with the problems of the PS3 releases and a fear that there may be more problems with these. Is it irrational to think that? Absolutely, but I can't help it. I'm a worrier through and through. So I don't know
  6. I don't know. Like I said the fact that they didn't patch the glitches after its initial release speaks volumes. Do I want there to be improvements? Absolutely. But after being underwhelmed with both releases, I just don't have that much confidence. If they did anything, they'd probably improve the textures and maybe fix the glitches. They wouldn't bother adding anything else. But I think even that's a bit of a stretch. *shrugs* Who knows, maybe I'll be surprised.
  7. While I definitely wish they would, I don't see it happening. The team behind the restoration of these games for the PS3 did a supremely underwhelming job in my opinion. I think the worst of these is never even bothering to patch the glitches in the game that weren't present in the original. Or even to fix the loading times. They also did almost the bare minimum in their initial restoration. If they won't even put in the effort to patch their own game or put a little more effort into their initial restoration of the games then I don't see them caring enough to add anything additional.
  8. This a million times this! While I was really underwhelmed by their restoration of the games, they wouldn't have made me as mad if they actually fixed the glitches and loading times. So here's hoping. Man, I already have these on the PS3.... And I'm going to have to buy them again. I'm a consumer whore.
  9. While I do love the story and the characters, it is riddled with problems. Most importantly that the main characters never communicate what they've learned to one another and no one reports back to Eraqus. Honestly though, the biggest problem is Terra. Only a couple of minutes into the game and he takes advice from Master Xehanort who he doesn't know and who contradicts everything Eraqus says. The same Eraqus that he considers a father figure and has been his teacher for years. The fact that Terra just accepts it all is mind boggling. He never questions anything even when they go against everything he was taught. Also, unlike Aqua who can sense darkness and evil intent, Terra can't and is duped by numerous villains. Remember we are told he is at the level of a master so this should be a skill he aquired long ago. I could go on, but ultimately I don't think the protagonists being pawns in Xehanort's plan is necessarily a bad thing. You can make Xehanort a genius who manipulates them as long as they themselves aren't completely incompetent. As much as I love this game, how can I really be expected to believe Master Xehanort is as powerful and intelligent as he is when everyone around him makes poor choices. It just makes the protagonists (who are fantastic characters) look awful and it makes Master Xehanort only look slightly above average in the intellect department. Overall the story only really falls apart (in my opinion) when you notice the many mistakes that our protagonists make, especially when you remember that they have been trained by a master and therefore should be more logical.
  10. Yeah that's what has been troubling me. Normally when I play any game I'm a completionist, and while I have no intention of collecting all medals, I do want to complete all of the objectives in all of the missions which is really not possible if you don't have really good medals. I am primarily playing the game for the story however. I'll attempt to slug through it and hope things start to develop. Thanks for everyone's replies.
  11. I Don't think they'll need him, though that is always a possibility. It makes me wonder though, since bad boss design and lack of staggering have persisted for a while now (mainly in bbs and DDD) if 0.2 will have this same problem. It will definitely give us insight into boss fights in kh3.
  12. So like many people in here, I downloaded Unchained X when it released and started playing it. I've been playing it on and off since then taking many extended breaks because I find myself frustrated with the gameplay and the long time for the story to even begin. Also like most app games it seems to be pay to win. Getting enough jewels for any of the medal deals without purchasing them is difficult and there's never a guarantee you'll get a great one. Adding on the fact that I'm a university student and don't have much disposable income, I can't spend any money in the game anyway. (Not that I would even if I had money, since I'm against the idea of micro transactions in games) So do you think it's worth it to play, or would it just be more sensible to watch the English translation of the Japanese version on YouTube? While ideally I'd like to finish it, the micro transactions and slow pacing make it pretty unbearable.
  13. I do agree with this. I would hate for her to be replaced and her voice is the voice for the character. Like some other people said maybe I'm missing some context or am misinterpreting the scene and if so, that's definitely preferable to just bad sounding lines. But I also have to say, in most scenes in movies, games, etc. you should be able to recognize the emotion the character is feeling in the scene by interpreting their body language, facial expression and voice. I just don't think her tone lined up with her expression and stance. I haven't watched the Japanese trailer yet but for comparison purposes I probably will.
  14. I have to admit I'm one of those worriers. It's true that the scenes in this trailer look a ton better than in the E3 trailer which shows great progress. It's also true that the Back Cover scenes are amazing. I will be 100% happy if the in game graphics of 0.2 and KH3 look as great as those do. So I'm definitely hoping that they continue to improve before the final release which I'm sure they will. In the mean time I'll continue to be excited but also be in my worry bubble.
  15. The graphics in this trailer do look a lot better than in the E3 trailer which is a great relief. They still need a bit of tweaking though. There's still a bit of a plastic like look to the characters and their surroundings which is a bit off putting. If they can apply some of the techniques they used in the KH X Back Cover Scenes I think it'll be perfect. They aren't that far off from one another so it seems possible. The pre-rendered scenes were flawless however, which has always been a strong point for Square Enix.
  16. Normally I would be, but since the delay is only a month it really doesn't bother me. There's still some polishing the game needs anyway. The only scenario in which I'd get upset is if the game got delayed again and again.
  17. I think I like it more the more I listen to it but initially I wasn't a fan. The trailer kept buffering for me and after hearing the first few seconds I thought "Oh no! They replaced Utada with a crappy J-Pop band!"
  18. Maybe! I know Willa Holland has the capability to voice act really well, she just needs to put the effort in. Some of her lines in the original BBS were really great (not all of them). I figured at the time that it was essentially her first time voice acting so it didn't bother me too much. But here it just sounds awful. I do think she sounded better in the E3 trailer though, so maybe it was just a bad day?
  19. The pre-rendered scenes look amazing and that's always been where Square Enix shines. I also think the regular ingame graphics have improved. The plastic like look of the characters and environments has been reduced a good deal, but it definitely still needs to be worked on. If Tetsuya Nomura took the tools and techniques he used in Final Fantasy XV's rendering in the Luminous Engine and applied them to KH 0.2 and KH3 in the Unreal 4 engine but in a KH style, it would look perfect. Or even if they just made the in game graphics look as good as the pre-rendered scenes from KH X Back Cover. They don't look too far off from one another.
  20. While I think the new trailer is definitely awesome, and I am looking forward to 0.2 the most, I was a bit disappointed in Willa Holland's voice acting. While her voice definitely fits the character, her delivery of some lines lacked the necessary emotion fitting the situation. Particularly in the scene where Aqua is confronting the mirror. The "Shadow Aqua" in the trailer doesn't sound threatening or demeaning. It almost sounds like she's literally reading lines off the paper. Aqua's response is worse. She doesn't speak with conviction, or with anger at the shadow's accusation. If Willa used a fraction of the energy Foreteller Aced used when he yells "WE DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO THE TRAITOR IS YET!!" she would have nailed it. Incidentally, that's the best line ever. I wonder if you guys' agree at all. Also, do you think they'll replace/fix some of the dialogue similar to this before the January release?
  21. This is something that happens a huge amount in Japanese media. The only explanation I have for this is because of their formal culture where they value privacy and personal space. But sooo many times in anime and Japanese games things could easily be avoided if characters took a few minutes to talk and share info. The kingdom hearts series is full of that. You could argue that Terra Ventus and Aqua wouldn't be in the position they're in at all if they had discussed their experiences with each other. Mickey keeping quiet about them and master xehanort is another example. Communication is supposed to be key but that concept is lost on the Japanese.
  22. I'm lost on your point then. He struggled a bunch in KH1. The whole point of the game is that his home is destroyed and his friends on gone. He has to come to terms with Riku diving deeper into the darkness, saving Kairi, and the fact that he's had this fate thrust upon him. There is definitely a struggle, but it's a balancing act. We are told at the beginning of the game that Sora and his friends want to explore other worlds, and so Sora is shown many times to be happy, not because he isn't necessarily struggling but because he's also fulfilling a dream. This is shown more at the beginning of the game because he assumes his friends are alright but once Riku shows up and starts moving toward darkness, Sora definitely starts to struggle, though he doesn't lose his optimism. But all of this is besides the point. Whether or not he struggles or not has nothing to do with how intelligent he is in either game. There's no correlation between the two at all.
  23. If this was true, then every character should have a hard time understanding plot points. But no one else has this problem except for Sora. So unless every other character is a useless slab of an avatar, this line of thinking doesn't really make sense. I wouldn't call anything that Sora said in KH1 as regurgitating themes. Sure, some of his lines are cheesy but that is just something that tends to happen in works done by Disney. It's something very commonly seen in their works and I think it's endearing. I'm not trying to say Sora was less of a character in KH2 or DDD, I just think they shifted the direction they wanted to go in with the character. I wouldn't even call Sora dumb but more simple minded. He just doesn't bother trying to comprehend all of these difficult concepts and instead just goes with his gut reaction.
  24. While yes you can make an argument for the lack of computer knowledge, I have to disagree with you about the homework since it could be taken either way and from my perspective his tone and expression seemed to indicate a lack of knowledge as to what homework was. I'm not exactly sure why understanding themes or plot points doesn't count, since they are essentially at the heart of the story and are the most important to understand. And while he doesn't have any trouble understanding he core themes and plot points and KH1 and Re:Com, he seems to struggle with it a lot more in KH2 and DDD. Like I said, I don't think Sora is supposed to be a smart character. He follows his gut instincts and trusts that he knows what he's doing is right. He's the cheerful lovable idiot. His strengths are in making friends, his inate kindness, and his ability to always know what's right even if he can't grasp the specifics of the situation. Who knows, maybe that will change in KH3, but from what I saw in KH2 and DDD that seems to be what they're going for.
  25. Essentially I want the same control style as KH1/KH2. I'd also like the theater mode to return. Other than that not much else. I'd say what I wouldn't like to return but hey, that wasn't the question.
