It feels like we've derailed this into a Lea and Kairi thread, lol ? Some fans have theorized Zexion/Ienzo might be the cloaked figure apart from what is probably Xion. My own idea is this: His title is "Cloaked Schemer", so it's possible that him helping Sora bring Roxas back could also be him helping the organization. Maybe he will double-cross Sora. Maybe, it's all so he can provide Xehanort a 13th vessel in the form of Roxas or Xion. I want to believe he's on the side of the good guys/back to being a normal dude, though. But the physique and "re-invited" do fit him.

Personally, I thought Kairi getting a Keyblade made more sense than Lea. Like you pointed out, if Sora and Riku can have a Keyblade, then she can too. If she was deliberately excluded, then there would be suspicion of sexism. More than some female fans already suspect/believe. There's really no reason for her not to. Especially when both the other trios contain a Keyblade-wielding female character, and Sora wasn't "meant" to have the Keyblade either. Riku is the only member of the Destiny trio who is "Supposed" to have a Keyblade. Axel/Lea getting one felt a bit werid, since he didn't really need one as he already had his chakrams. I don't really have a problem with him getting one, I just felt like him getting one was more egregious and "shoehorned" than Kairi. That's just what my personal feeling was between the two when it happened. I've grown to accept his keyblading but I will miss his old fighting style. As of the newer installments, I feel like the KH1 side of the kidnapped argument is a bit unfair. Kairi lost her heart. Her body was carried around by Riku, but Riku considered himself protecting her, and her heart was safe inside Sora. Ventus and (to a degree) Sora end up in the same state, and so could equally be called "Damsels in Distress" in these moments(I think they actually have the trope listed for them on TVtropes, lol). For comparison: They're portrayed the same way. Ventus's body has also been moved around in the same way. Also, on waking up, Kairi refuses to run away automatically from Ansem, as she doesn't want to leave Riku behind. Then later, she uses herself as human shield for heartless Sora. I think these are some of the best moments for her. In KH2, it happens because Kairi refuses to sit idle now that she has her memories back, and wants to be proactive, so even though she doesn't have any way of defending herself, she still tries to find her friends on her own and displays bravery and a refusal to give up. In fact, she's stubborn. This aspect was also shown in KH1 when she had the argument with Sora about staying behind. Just like Sora and to a lesser extent Riku, she jumps into danger without thinking sometimes. In my opinion, KH2 showed a lot of her, personality-wise. I want to add that if Kairi could fight well enough to fend off Saix right away, that wouldn't have made sense. If she'd stayed on the island and been completely passive, that'd be worse ( The reason she stays in DDD is because everything seems OK for now, she wasn't trained enough for the exam, plus Nomura wanted her joining the lights to be a surprise secret ending for some reason). People would also have used these against her, so it kinda feels like she can't win. Of course, I'm not unbiased. It's just that, I feel like people blow the whole "DiD" thing out of proportion and exaggerate it a bit. In BBS, for example, she was a literal 4-year-old child. In KH3, it's shared with everyone else save Sora, AND, it appears, a direct result of sacrificing herself for Lea. Some of the more personal reasons I like Kairi is because I can relate to aspects of her personality, such as her being a tomboy ( The PS2 game booklets that come with the games, state this, tomboys can still wear pink, etc, and she very much is one in Japan). She was a role-model for me growing up, especially when, in the 2000's, most other female game characters were a lot worse. I also fell in love with her character design and personality. I don't mind people disliking her, though (Well, unless it's "because it gets in the way of ______", because that's a lame reason, so you could say I do mind in that case, but I won't start anything over it), and yes, she is underdeveloped. Hopefully KH3 finally gives her the development she needs. And, if you just plain don't like the character, that's cool too LOL. There's a somewhat-long-running gag of people calling Xion and/or Namine "Sora and Kairi's daughter/kid". They're technically not wrong ?

I was hoping Namine would have a bigger role, as well. Of course she still might have one after all, but I'm not to optimistic here. It's true that there isn't really a need for her to be in most of the opening, but she still could of been standing with the group at the end? I wonder if Namine doesn't actually get brought back in KH3, and that's saved for a sequel. It would be werid to have her on the cover, then, but I wouldn't put it past the realm of possibility and yeah, I know I'm probably jumping to conclusions, but I'm worried about the possibility of it happening and what effect that would have in the fandom. Imo, neither should be confirmed. But they deliberately put R/N in the controversial "ship montage" in the 0.2 credits, for example. So I can't help but have suspicions that they will make one the "official pairing". Hopefully, they just keep everyone as friends, but I don't trust square

Why do you think Namine is absent? I was kind of surprised that she wasn't in the opening at all. I know we're not supposed to discuss shipping or anything, but it seems like Square/Nomura keeps flip-flopping between Roxas/Xion and Roxas/Namine. I say this because both have been implied, for example the credits of 0.2, and the opening with Xion being surrounded by that pink effect, and Namine's absence, makes me feel like they've possibly decided on Roxas/Xion. It doesn't help that Lines/Scenes in days compare R/X to sokai on the same level as II did for R/N Edit: It worries me because either becoming the "canon ship" would cause a lot of heat in the fandom. I'm probably just getting worried for no reason as either most likely won't happen, but the possibility still has me scared for the fandom.

It is also because the BBS novel talks about him before the start of BBS, and him feeling jealous of Ventus and his friends. It showed a vulnerable side to Vanitas, at least during the first years after being separated from Ventus. The Novels aren't technically canon, however.

This was really good! You do a good Ventus voice, even with Ventus-like word choices! I hope something similar happens in KH3.

Personally, I'm bummed Radiant Garden and Destiny Islands aren't playable, but at the same time confused, because we know: Kairi and Lea had to have gone there, because Merlin is there. Sora's "Gummiphone" is an invention by Ienzo, and it looks like Riku and probably Kairi will get one as well. But They/He would of had to have picked it up from Ienzo? Demyx and Vexen have a conversation in an area that looked like it could of been new, and it looked like a scene that would play when you were in that world. Sora, Kairi and Riku go back to the islands at some point in the game. Destiny Islands didn't need to be playable, but Radiant Garden kind of seemed like it did. So, that stuff is all long cut-scenes then? With no gameplay in-between? Welp? Not that I mind long cutscenes, though

I think you guys are being just a little bit too pessimistic with the Disney worlds. Disney has several things in the works, including for this year. That includes sequels. By the time we get close to that point, several new Disney films will be out. We still have Moana, Coco and Zootopia(Which, in the case of M&Z, have been medals in χ/UX). Jungle Book has been scrapped twice now, so they obviously will put it in at some point. Toy Story and Frozen can return, King of Thieves is still an idea on table as well. Pirates might return until the story is finished. We're good for now

So, when I went to physically pre-order the KH3 PS4, I was told that EBGames sold out online in 3 minutes! I was and I'm still not mad, just shocked! I feel like they didn't plan very well, and I hope it's not just scalpers who pre-ordered a bunch as soon as KH13 put the news up that it was coming to Australia. I wouldn't be surprised if many are/going to be on Ebay for 2x the price. This also means that anyone else who went to the actual store to pre-order got told the same thing. *Presses F* It also sounds like gamestop/ebgames have been a bit dogdy lately, selling pre-orders to others and the cashier even suggested I come back and essentially buy someone else's. I'm not going to, but I suggest that everyone who was lucky enough to get one show up early or at least on release day

I'd say get whichever is cheaper at the store/on sale. As cyntix said, If you've played all the previous games/know the story it doesn't matter if you get it on XB1 As far as I know, slims perform the same as original PS4/XB1. If you want KH3 at max FPS, then go for PS4 Pro or XB1X. I'm sure the only real difference will be FPS. Even then a regular PS4 or XB1 should be fine. I also haven't seen much of a difference in real life when it comes to it being "Best HD". That will also depend on if your tv is HD(Regular 1080p is fine).

I hope so, it's just that a lot of the scenes we've seen in trailers so far are talking about the same things regarding Riku himself that I thought was put to rest in DDD. The battle between him and Repliku with Ansem looks awesome, but it also means we're probably going to see Ansem spiel about darkness to Riku again. Yeah, the gameplay looks like it will be a lot of fun. I'll probably take a while to get to the next story parts between playing, because I'll be goofing around lol

Character development for the whole Destiny Trio. I hope I'm wrong because the trailers are out of context, but apart from Riku's sacrifice, and Sora finally breaking down, it doesn't look like they are going to grow much. I like them enough as they are for it not to bother me too much, but still. It seems that instead of giving Riku new development, we're just going to go over his darkness, his mistakes back in KH1, Ansem, and his replica all over again. While the whole replica thing will still be interesting, and I'm interested to see how Repliku himself will develop, the rest has become beating a dead horse. As much as I like Lea/Axel, it seems like potential character development for Kairi, the main heroine and the first original female character of this series, has been pushed aside for him. The dude who was originally meant to be a CoM villain and nothing else. I've grown to like him quite a lot over the years, and especially by playing Days, but it doesn't seem like good storytelling when an originally minor character usurps (one of) the main character(s). I also feel that instead of seeing Kairi for Kairi, she's become a replacement for Xion in Axel's life. I don't mind making the connection, it makes sense, and I love Xion, but it shouldn't be all the relationship is based around. Same with Sora
