When you're able to drive you no longer have to rely on your parents to take you places. That's a big responsibility to take care of. Driving is dangerous, so you're looking after not only the car, but your life and any passengers you may have with you. It requires full on concentration, and you can't goof off like a little kid.

If you're going to college, which college are you going to? What are you going to major in? If you're going to work, what are you going to do?

Between the ages 15 and 16, you're legible to get a part time job. Having a part-time job shows just what kind of work you can do if you don't go to college. Most of that isn't too fun.

Are you seeing a pattern? When you're a teenager, you depend on your parents less. When you're an adult, you won't have your parents' guideance for every step of the way. When you're an adult, you're on your own. Being a teenager prepares you for that. You're out in the real world driving, working, and having the casual leisure time.

Speaking of politics, when you turn 18 you can vote! The future of your country is in your hands. That's not something that can be trusted with a 13-year-old. Now, you may be saying, "But Momma Vani, when you're 18 you're an adult, not a teenager!"
Ivan repliedWell, I don't consider 18 being an adult. I don't really consider anyone being an adult until they've got a full-time job and have their own place. Because by then, you're no longer relying on your parents for anything. You're fending for yourself in the real world.
So, that's why I don't consider a 13-year-old to be a teenager. Really, I consider the ages 15-22 (the average age in which students graduate from college) teenagers.

Due to this conclusion, we are saying you are not a teen to us and therefore do bot fall into the ratio of being a teen and don't fall into the standard or stereotype.
