    I think that there are some good and bad parts of religion. But I think people can live well without it.

    I agree with earth_angel. It can be good or bad, just the way you take it. I believe Religion and Bible's (and other books of religion) are not to be taken literally. They're books that tell stories and teach lessons. But some people take it SO seriously that if you don't believe in what they believe, they're going to shun you away, judge you or just make a religious war with whomever doesn't agree.     I got one better for ya ;) the prophet Muhammad said: the golden road lies in the middle, i.e. don't lean too extreme to either side of religion.

    Anyway, it's just about using your common sense. It's OK to ask questions, you don't have to believe everything some priest/iman/rabbi says without thinking about first.

    see what i mean? if u dont agree, people get pissed. religion is a very touchy subject. i usually never get involved in a religion/political discussion cuz nothing good comes out of it. when u have ur own opinion that doesnt match others, it gets ugly and quite frankly, thats ridiculous. this is why we're individuals. to have separate and our own personal opinions. but in religion/politics, thats not allowed a lot lol either "u agree with me, or i think ur stupid/awful" lol its a...

    Religion isn't really something you can talk about unless you're with people who can handle it maturely. It's definitely the kind of discussion to keep off the site however (I mean no offense to any people), because like the abortion thread, some people can't handle other people's opinions and it turns into a bloodbath. However, I did have a nice discussion with some seniors in my school last year about having a religion class. Not like having the kids be preached at, but...

    but more like learning the histories and beliefs of many different religions. We thought it'd be a good way to bring some people together. But they were afraid that it'd bring some people who would only argue about how religion is evil and it's the source of all problems.
