Ephemer is his full name in all versions, there was no Ephemera, it was just a fan translation. (Ephemer is even written in the Japanese credits of KHX)

I find it helpful to change the emphasis on pronunciation to get used to the localized version. Before it was "eh-FEM-er-a", now it's "EH-feh-mer".

 

I actually like the localized version a little better, but mostly because the original sounded slightly girly and I kept switching Skuld and Ephemera's names with the characters.

I thought Ephemera was the correct name all of this time. I personally prefer that name than Ephemer. But... if that's the correct one...than I have to get use to it.

The games confirm Ephemer though. What do you trust more, a possible one time mistake in translating through an interview or a fully translated text in-game in Japanese and English?

I'm in the U.S., so I'll keep calling him Ephemer. Only called him that when his name wasn't translated to English. Ephemera was just a bad translation in my opinion. They'll call him Ephemer in KHxBC, too so... I'm going with that.

Eh, it was a bit annoying after being so used to seeing translated works call him "Ephemera", but now by this point I've gotten over and used to it. It's like just one letter's difference man, it ain't worth getting worked up over. I suggest just getting past it and moving on.

Eh, he's still Ephemera to me.

It's like how half of the official translations for names in Akame ga Kill are stupid (IMO) so I just don't use them lol

I've been calling the boy Ephemera when I was following along with the unofficial translations, as I play X[chi]. Then I played NA's Unchained X and it was Ephemer. Even X[chi]'s Ending Credits said "Ephemer". 

 

So, I'm sticking with the name Ephemer. 

It's amazing how just one missing letter makes a name sound weird.  I've had the same dilemma myself!  But I always refer to the guy as Ephemera, because that's how I've known him for all these years we've gotten info on Kingdom Hearts X!  Ephemer just sounds weird! X3

If its actually called Ephemer now or ever, I dont care much.

I still call him Ephemera though ,even if its not the case anymore.

It just sounds "fitting" to me.

Think of it this way. He is both named Ephemera and Ephemer.

It's like the names 'Nicholas' and 'Nick', 'Jaq' and 'Jaqueline', 'John' and 'Jonathan', 'Zelda' and 'Grizelda/Griselda' etc

ephemer(a) is written エフェメラ (efemera) in kana while english ver. translate it as ephemer. the credit scene of KH X shown Ephemer but that's because it's written in alphabet not kana. well i don't want to make a fuss over a single alphabet in name, it just depend on what ver. you play ,imo.

Don't give Nomura any ideas. 

 

Personally, I've adjusted to the letter change simply because the pronunciation sounds the same despite the removal of the 'a'.
