Greetings, Fellow Dandelions! As you all know, Synthesis has been a big part of Kingdom Hearts since the first game. It gives us ways to get items and weapons from drops from Heartless...but, do you really use it as much as you think?

Like, you know it takes quite a bit of Synthesis to get to the good items and weapons, but...do you really use it after you get them? For instance, in KH1, you have to create almost every other item in the list to get to the weapons, but after you get those, do you bother spending the time grinding to get multiple of some items. One play-through, I made enough Crystal Crowns for my entire party and it took AGES! Way too long.

And of course, there is the fact of remember what enemy drops what item, what world that enemy appears in in that point in time (Because Heartless and Nobodies have a really bad habit of moving house when things get more intense near end game), and of course, just how often those items drop. RNG is a cruel mistress.

Granted, the tediousness of this could be removed if they somehow managed to streamlined this process. In KH2, if you got 50 or more of the shard, stone and gem variants of some materials, you could outright buy them from Moogle shops...but that's if you got 50 or more, which is really way too much grinding. By the time you complete them all, you'd probably have enough material to make anything you want and more!

Fighting all those enemies for items is a pretty good way to get higher in level unless you already maxed yourself out, in which case, every enemy that doesn't have a drop is just another screen transition to get them to re-spawn.

The usual ultimate prize for all your work is to be able to create the Ultima Weapon, though in more recent games, they've been able to find other ways of giving you that weapon.(Secret boss in DDD, Mirage Arena from BBS.) Who's to say you won't be able to get it from doing the Hades Cup in Olympus (Seeing that it's already in the game and that has been the token Tournament world for many games now.)

I personally wouldn't mind if it came back, but wouldn't be surprised if the didn't include it in. What are your thoughts? Anyway, my B-day is soon, so maybe I'll get something KH related from my family. Until next time, Stay Shining!

Naah... IT NEEDS TO RETURN! Not it should, but it needs, I'm not a really big fan of the numbered titles (I prefer all the games except Re:Coded [even if I like it]) but I have certain standard that I want to keep maintenad for the numbered games

I have viewed it as a bit of a hassle to be honest and would rather they not bring it back. If they did, make it simpler.

Hmm, i think they should keep it but make it simpler. all those freaking object with almost the same names, and always need to google the right places to find.

I'd say keep it. Refine it, innovate it, and flesh it out in interesting ways so it can be fun to synthesize/collect synthesis items.

Add new features like Say you could have your megamcchocolate keyblade with a sick transformation, you can add certain levels/types of ore to perhaps upgrade it the way you want to upgrade it. Like do i want speed?strength? Magic? Critical? Technique? It would add stat upgrades to your mcchocolate keyblade with your transformation plus it can open opportunities for creating builds to your liking. It's adding a level of strategy when trying to craft an effective build for your sora which you can basically create your own playstyle (assuming there's a wide variety of keyblades that vary in their own way). It's especially useful in the more harder difficulties.

I honestly feel like there is potential with synthesis system that could accommodate the new features in kh3. It just takes imagination, out of the box thinking, and heck why not turn the concept on its head somehow?

agree. And please square I dont want to collect 500 different items to build Ultima

I don't see why it shouldn't. I never felt that synthesis sucked, and it's been part of just about every KH game so far (maybe not CoM or re:coded, but IDK).

I don't see why not when was the Last Kingdom Hearts Game that had Synthesis i mean that should come back am i right?

That can be solved by just adding the item drops to enemy journal entries.

I actually found it more rewarding because of that.

well I should clarify 500 different Items from the same special enemie

That, I understand.

It will likely come back it is a numbered title.

If it is 10x better the issue with Synthesis was the fact of how clunky and the just amount of items needed for it and the lack of pay off as you ended up replacing items quite often or got stuff you never used.

If it's made better and innovated to some degree sure but if it doesn't show up I'm not gonna complain either.

Yes, Item Synthesis should definitely return for Kingdom Hearts III! It's a tradition in the numbered entries to have Synthesis, so KHIII should not be the exception! I actually enjoyed the Synthesis system, and after attaining the Ultima Weapon, I'd use the hell out of that baby to bash away my foes! So yes, I would very much like for Synthesis to return to Kingdom Hearts III! :3
