If nothing else I feel like Nomura might like the concept of a dark Sora a little too much to let him go just yet

It always seemed like there’s been a little more to Vanitas then he’s let on too tbh

Like especially with the whole speech he gives when he actually has the xblade in bbs? Doesn’t exactly align with what Xehanort seemed to want at any point in time

Yeah I mean, it was almost a completely different personality in a way too, obviously taking most of it from Vanitas and well, none from Ven I guess but still we’ve never quite seen him like that before or after :thonk:

Ye it’s a manga thing, not sure exactly how they portrayed it but yeah something along the lines of he misses being whole and the pain of each unversed dying literally goes right back into him and just makes him worse each time

I could be a little off in putting it that way but that’s how I remember it at least

Kind of a shame that it really adds a bit more depth to Vanitas that the game neither really explores or even alludes to in any way

Talking about Vanitas, so, 100% sure he is that one of the 13 Darknesses that Ventus fought and trapped? I mean he behaves not like it or the things he says its not like one of the 13 Darknesses would say

 

But as Ventus has a pure heart, even the Darkling wanted to get him, yes Vanitas can be that Darkness

I think they would do well to focus a lot more character interactions and actually letting people who haven’t really had a good chance to talk to one another, have meaningful conversations instead of having them wind up in a large group setting like kh3 (where everyone could only have so few lines because the game needed to end soon) or being alone a lot or always interacting with villains. Days was such a strong story to most people, because you actually get to see the main characters relationships both grow and crumble in the time they spend together, whereas with BBS for example, they’re alone 90% of the time and majority of the scenes we do see them in are probably the flashbacks if I had to guess

just have then interact with each other like any other JRPG tbh

More interactions outside of cutscenes is what this series is gonna need honestly

i mean look at ReCoM and Days which are still held to have amazing stories

Console KH has... darkness?

filled with world building and lore and character development but is turn based

well it's like
Trails in the Sky (3 games)
Trails to Zero, Trails to Azure (duology)
Trails of Cold Steel (4 games)

Yeah it’s honestly such a shame to me that they dropped the ball with 3 in that sense, I felt like after playing ff15 that they really oughta adopt that same sorta camaraderie outside of cutscenes and really let it show

I guess with the lack of difficulty in kh3 they really had no reason to include triumphant pieces of dialogue in battle 💀

Like literally proud on there was standard on any other game

Made even easier by all the quality of life things

Ah yes, the people who probably blow through each and everything they play without doing their homework and playing the previous games and then wonder why they don’t really have a good feel for anything in particular, THOSE guys
