As ridiculous and B-movieish it looks, for once it's pretty faithful to the game it's an adaptation of

its not. the games doesnt have magic

it does

you can imbue your weapons with elements and some characters have magic projectiles and lasers as their attacks

mostly big brain characters that fight with fans or umbrellas
