well its more than that. Anatomy is also about whats on the inside

If you want to draw good figures you need to know how things look underneath the skin because that is all informing how the body should look especially when drawing none clothed figures.

But it is best to start with nude models to familiarise yourself with the human body itself. Then move on to some clothed models at points because Folds in clothes are also extremely important as they inform the audience on what is going on underneath them.
