Oh no it has very much a plot in fact that has a much bigger story than most final fantasies due to the nature of expansions it's basically four games right now continung one large story

And going to continue with more as the years go on

It's not for everybody if you've been keeping up with Joshua and his ff14 journey but it's fun and I like it alot

FFXIV has a pretty great story overall. That being said do keep in mind ARR, the section before the expansions, drags on a bit.

The rest is worth it though and they're trimming ARR down a bit soon.

There is one Quest where a guy sends you on to find the crystal things and he accidentally send you to the wrong one like five or six times I imagine that's the kind of stuff they're going to cut down there's a lot of filler like that
