jbmasta 67 Posted May 23, 2019 It'd be cool if future games used the accessory system in conjunction with character customisation that influences your stats, a visual angle to the armours and accessories from the previous games. It gives players the chance to get creative as well as an incentive to do what you need to unlock the different accessories, thus exposing you to more of the game's mechanics and encouraging you to master them. 0.2's wardrobe system is the first console game to use character customisation like this, but in 0.2 it's purely aesthetic. Clothes and accessories reflecting specific elements can enhance those elemental techniques, but playing into the elemental rock-paper-scissors also makes you weaker to the stronger elemental technique if used by the opponent. If you go in with Blizzard class heightened, you take more damage from fire types. Square and Nomura have used stat influencing clothing customisation with The World Ends With You, where the clothes you attach to the characters influence their abilities and stats on top of the trend system. Inçendyne 31 Posted May 23, 2019 The closest we get to character customization having effects would be the perk system for outfits in KHUx.
Marluxia#4918 9 Posted May 23, 2019 It would also add depth to the current mechanics without having to constantly come up with something new that just gets cluttered in with what's there already, and could give players who enjoy certain combat aspects to have a choiceImagine if you could switch to the KH2 outfit and only be able to use drive forms? There's in game explanations for some of Sora's abilities, it would be cool to make use of it.It would also add depth to the current mechanics without having to constantly come up with something new that just gets cluttered in with what's there already, and could give players who enjoy certain combat aspects to have a choice
Novayon 192 Posted May 23, 2019 What's the point of accessories if they can't be used to make Sora look fabulous eh?Some customisation is always appreciated

Amaterasu_1549906707 19 Posted May 23, 2019 So something a little like.. Lightning Returns? That's a recent example of game from Square Enix where the accesories/clothing can be useful and look good @Sandy Klaws#9359Well,maybe not too recent, but its the first that came to mind

GoldenDrummer730 36 Posted May 23, 2019 the issue is that serious cutscenes can lose impact cause your character is wearing a pirate outfit with a cat on their head hahaha
Marluxia#4918 9 Posted May 23, 2019 Yes something like that. FFX-2 sort of does it
