Chapter One: A deadly darkness approaches

Kain and Riku storm through the castle as they defeat Heartless after Heartless. They rush to retrieve the artifact before it falls to the hands of their foes. As they keep ascending the floors of the castle, they come upon a knight fighting to stay alive.
Kain: Cecil! We shall aid you!
Cecil: No, stand back. It's a trap!
Riku: Damn, wha-, what are these things!?
Kain: Such strange creatures. I can't move!
Suddenly, a hooded man appears before them coming from a dark portal.
Mysterious Figure: Well, well, well. What do we have here? I expect to find poor resistance and yet I find three formidable warriors. Hmph, at least you three will suit as my puppets, commandering my creatures, the Unborn.
Cecil: The Unborn!?
Mysterious Figure: Yes, Unborn are creatures born out of the purest of twisted souls. These beings can destroy Heartless in the blink of an eye. Hahaha, prepare to be enslaved.
All of a sudden, one of the Unborn falls instantly dead on the ground. The rest of the Unborn look around to see what is happening. Then, a quick flash of darkness kills twenty more.
Kain: What was that!?
Cecil: Whatever it was, it freed us. Let's finish them all off!
Riku: Dark Firaga!
Kain: Sky Rave!
Cecil: Paladin Force!
Mysterious Figure: NO! It cannot be!!!
One by the one, the Unborn fall by the hands of the warriors. But more keep coming as each one falls.
Voice:Let me handle this!
Riku: Huh!? Who is that!?
Then, out of thin air, another hooded man appears with dark aura eminating from him.
Hooded Man: Dark Reaper!
The hooded man is so fast that Riku, Kain and Cecil can barely see him.
Hooded Man: Go, you must get the artifact.
Heeding his words, the warriors rush to retrieve the artifact.
Mysterious Figure: It can't be! I saw you die before my very eyes! How are you alive, Dexeres!?
Dexeres: You look so surprised. The look on your face is priceless. Let's settle this. Now tell me, why is this happening? You must have broken the balance between the worlds!
Mysterious Figure: Hmph. How right you are. The worlds's chains have been broken, and now my army of darkness shall destroy everything until I obtain Kingdom Hearts!
Dexeres: No! I will stop you!
Meanwhile, Riku, Kain and Cecil finally obtain the powerfull artifact.
Kain: Wait, I sense something.
Then, in the blink of an eye, a giant Unborn appears before them, blocking their exit.
Cecil: We must defeat this creature.
Riku: Right!
The new threat has emerged, the three warriors have finally retrieved the artifact, and the mysterious figure confronts Dexeres. What will happen next? Stay tuned for Chapter Two: Escape from Baron...

Chapter Two: Escape from Baron

 

Riku, Kain and Cecil face a formidable opponent, and so they wonder how to take down the giant Unborn.

Kain: We will have to use all of our strength to defeat this foe. Otherwise, we're done for. Cecil, Riku, we must hurry!

Riku: Let's do this!!!

Riku makes his first move and climbs quickly to the top of the Unborn's head and uses his Dark Aura attack. Kain and Cecil focus their attacks on the Unborn's legs. The beast simply shakes them off and sends a shockwave to the ground. The three warriors are barely able to dodge it's attack. Then, the giant beast unleashes a swarm of Unborn, which surrounds them in an instant.

Cecil: This thing releases more demonspawns upon us. Not to worry, I can take care of them with my darkness and light attacks, you two take care of the giant beast!

Riku: Right!

Kain: *nods*

Meanwhile, The Mysterious Figure and Dexeres are battling each other...

Dexeres: Huh, you seem to be losing your edge, my old friend! Dark Arrows!! Dark Shuriken!!!

Mysterious Figure: Hmph, do not be too overconfident. Shade Sword!!!

Dexeres: Ah, so you still have some tricks up your sleeve. This should prove amusing for the moment. You do realize your little puppets are nothing before my powers.

Mysterious Figure: So it would seem. Hmph, I don't know how you managed to stay alive, but this time I will be sure to kill you swiftly and painlessly. Hahaha, this is perfect. While we bicker here, more of my Unborn invade this castle. I should actually be thanking you...

In just moments, The Mysterious Figure opens a portal and vanishes.

Dexeres: *gasp* The others, I have to help them!

In the blink of an eye, Dexeres teleports himself to Riku, Kain and Cecil.

Cecil: Dark Flame!

Riku: Shadow Break!

Kain: Rising Dive!

Dexeres: Rise of Shadows!!!

When Dexeres utters these words, enormous pillars of darkness rise from the ground and kills the surrounding Unborn. Then he jumps to the head of the giant Unborn and uses a flurry of dark arrows to kill it. And in just moments, the giant Unborn falls to the ground dead.

Riku: Incredible, that power!

Dexeres: You must leave now, before more of them come. Take the artifact to Yen-Sid, he will know what to do. Go through this portal.

Riku: Kain, Cecil, will you be alright?

Cecil: Do not worry, we shall keep things in order here.

Kain: Cecil is right, now go!

Riku: Hey, stranger, aren't you coming?

Dexeres: I'll go soon don't worry.

After bidding farewell, Riku goes through the portal. Where has The Mysterious Figure gone? And just what is this artifact and what does Dexeres mean when he says Yen-Sid will know what to do? Find out in Chapter Three: Answers...

Chapter Three: Answers

 

Riku enters the portal that Dexeres opened, and for a moment finds himself drifting in a vortex of darkness. After a few seconds, he appears at the door of the Mysterious Tower. He looks around to be sure that no Heartless or Unborn followed him. Then he approaches to open the door but hears voices, so he closes in on the door to listen.

Flora: Oh, I'm so worried, it's been two days since the master has been inside his chambers. He has'nt come out for even a moment.

Fauna: I'm sure it's nothing too serious. Maybe he is studying one of his books. With the war looming like a dreaded fog, he must be researching.

Merryweather: I feel something of ill omen is about to happen. This troubles my mind too much.

Suddenly, Riku enters through the door.

Riku: Excuse me, I wish to speak to Yen-Sid.

Flora: I'm afraid the master is busy at the moment.

Riku: I'm sure he has time for an old friend.

Fauna: But the master should not be-

Riku: There is no time for delays, I have to talk to him!

Merryweather: I like him, he takes action!

Riku knocks on the door-Yen-Sid, it's me, Riku.

Yen-Sid: Proceed.

Riku: Master, I've brought the artifact, what is it?

Yen-Sid: Ah, you have found it. Well done, as for what it is, I have done some research. It is called the Atarax meteor shard, an item that, if used properly, can bestow unimaginable power upon the user. But I keep reading, but i don't seem to find how must it be used.

Riku: Then what good is this for?

Yen-Sid: That is for you to find out, my friend, I am leaving the meteor shard in your care.

Riku: Master, are you sure?

Yen-Sid: Yes, Riku, your control over darkness and light ensure me that the shard is in good hands.

Then, suddenly, Dexeres appears from behind.

Yen-Sid: Ah, so you've come as well.

Riku: You know him?

Yen-Sid: Yes, Dexeres, he joined us not too long ago. An astounding ally.

Dexeres: Baron is safe for now. All the Unborn have been destroyed.

Riku: Wait, the Unborn. Yen-Sid, they appeared out of thin air when this man in a hood appeared.

Yen-Sid: This is far worse than i could have imagined.

Instantly, the troubled Yen-Sid sits to think.

Riku: Master-

Dexeres: He's fine, just troubled.

Riku: Who is the man in the hood?

Dexeres: He never revealed his name, but I've known him for a long time. He used to be my friend, but he always wanted to push the boundaries of his abilities and so he began going to the realm of darkness and back to examine and learn to utilize the darkness's true potential.

Riku: How could he go and leave to the realm of darkness as he pleased?

Dexeres: His mastery of darkness allowed him to come and go. I learned to wield the darkness by myself, in the hopes of using it for good. But then he betrayed me, and killed everything I held dear. I tried to stop him, but he released my heart. I was slowly creeping toward death's cold embrace, when I saw a faint glimmer of light. I reached out to it, and suddenly, I was reborn as a Nobody...

Riku: What!? You're a nobody!? But how do you remember your past?

Dexeres: I'm not sure, but i think the faint light had something to do with it.

Yen-Sid: You must go to Radiant Garden, I sense something is going to happen.

Riku: No, Kairi and the others, they're in danger! Dexeres, we have to go!

Dexeres: Right!

In the blink of an eye, Dexeres opens another portal.-Let's go quick!-

Riku: Wait, Master, why are the Unborn appearing?

Yen-Sid: The hooded man is the source of them, he has the soul of pure evil, more powerfull then Xehanort himself.

When Riku hears this, he rushes in to the portal along with Dexeres. They go to Radiant Garden in the hopes that they can prevent the dire event Yen-Sid forsees. What will happen? And where is Sora? Stay tuned for Chapter Four: Arrival in Radiant Garden...

Chapter Four: Arrival in Radiant Garden

 

Now, Riku and Dexeres rush desperately to Radiant Garden, hoping they are not too late to prevent Yen-Sid's prediction. Riku thinks in his mind, what could the Mysterious Figure want in Radiant Garden? Meanwhile, Ventus is sitting in a corner of the training garden, thinkig.

Trish: Ventus, are you alright? You look sad.

Ventus: .......

Trish: Oh, I don't like seeing you like this. Hmmm, ah, wait here.

Trish goes into the garden and picks some flowers for Ventus, she thinks-maybe this will make him feel better- She knows that it's not easy for him, but she just wants to make him feel less depressive.

Trish: Here, these are for you.

Ventus:*she picked flowers for me?* Thanks, they're beautiful.

Trish: Yay, you're smiling again. That's much better. See you later.

As Trish walks away, Ventus looks at her and then looks at the flowers she gave him. -*Trish....* Suddenly, he hears a familiar voice- Hey, are you all right?-

Ventus: Aqua! You're back!

Aqua: Yeah, but hey, why the long face?

Ventus: It's.....nothing.

Aqua: Ven, I can tell something's wrong, come on, you can tell me.

Ventus: It's just that, I've been having this feeling that he might come back, and if that happens, everyone will die...

Aqua: Vanitas!

Ventus: As long as I exist, he will come back.

Aqua: Ven, please don't think that way.

But before she says anything else, the sky suddenly darkens. Then, mysterious beams of darkness descend upon the outskirts of Radiant Garden, and Unborn rise from the ground.

Ventus: What's happening!?

Aqua: Whatever it is, it can't be good!

Then, on the other side, Riku and Dexeres appear from the dark portal and arrive in the courtyard.

Dexeres: They're here already, come on, we have to hurry.

Riku: Hey,wait-

But before his eyes, Dexeres already left.

Riku: Incredible, he's so fast, I can't even see him.

Trish: Riku? Is that you?

Riku: Trish, what are you doing here?

Trish: I saw something strange and I was going to see what it was.

Riku: We have to go and protect the castle! Come on!

They hurry to reach the castle, and in the meantime, the Unborn destroy everything in sight.

Aqua: No, there are too many!!!

Suddenly Leon appears from behind.

Leon: Blasting Zone! Go, I'll take it from here, go to the library with Kairi and the others. Go now!!!

Aqua leaves with Ventus while Leon fends off the Unborn.

Dexeres: Don't worry, you're not alone. Shadow Lance!

Riku: Twilight Sharpshooter!!!

Leon: Guys, what are these things?

Riku: Unborn.

Leon: Huh, first Heartless, then Nobodies and now these things...

Dexeres: Dark Teleport!

In just moments, many of the Unborn fall dead on the ground, while more come.

Leon: There's no end to them, there are too many!

Dexeres: I sense a light approaching, a strong one...

Suddenly, a beam of light strikes all of the Unborn, a light so bright that it almost blinds Riku and the others.

Riku: Sora!

Sora: Riku, everyone, are you all right?

Riku: Barely, you made it just in time.

Dexeres: You finnaly show up? What was the delay?

Sora: Huh? Who is he?

Riku: His name is Dexeres, he is our ally.

Sora: Oh ok.

Dexeres: Where is Donald and Goofy?

Goofy: Hiya, fellas!

Donald: We came as soon as we could!

Kairi: Sora, you're here!

Kairi quickly runs to Sora and hugs him, and Sora hugs her back. Everything seems to be peacefull for now. Was the Unborn's attack on Radiant Garden what Yen-Sid foretold? Where could the Mysterious Figure be? Stay tuned for Chapter Five: Plans...

Chapter Five: Plans

 

The Mysterious Figure wanders quietly and calmly across a vast place. No sunlight ever shines there, only the darkness and the sound of the waves can be felt in this place. He often comes here to meditate, for it is the only place where he can be at peace, in the Realm of Darkness.

Mysterious Figure: So, Sora has indeed arrived at Radiant Garden, he came sooner than I expected. Hahaha, this is perfect, Sora is the key to Kingdom Hearts, and he shall lead me right to it. It is a shame, he could have been a valuable ally, still he shall be quite usefull. I should stay here for a while though, and see what develops. Until then, I shall have to hone my skills...

Meanwhile, in Radiant Garden, construction is under way to repair the damage done by the Unborn. In the castle library, Sora, Riku, Kairi and the others have a meeting to discuss their next course of action.

Dexeres: The Unborn's attack here was sudden and so everyone got caught off guard. We must go to other worlds to ensure their safety.

Kairi: I agree with you. With the Heartless, Nobodies and now the Unborn lurking about, we need to check on all the worlds before something of dire consequence happens.

Leon: This is getting complicated, the darkness is spreading like poison, all towards Kingdom Hearts. Everything as we know it might come to an end.

Goofy: Garwsh, you should'nt say something like that Leon. We can't lose hope. The light will always defeat the darkness.

Donald: He's right, we always have to believe.

Ventus: Send me on one of the worlds. I have to do something about this.

Aqua: Ven, no, you have to stay here!

Trish: Don't worry Aqua, I'll go with him, I'll look after him!

Ventus: You will!?

Riku: Yes, we should send recruits on each world, that way we will turn the tide of the war in our favor.

Sora: I'm gonna go to The Land of Dragons. Come on guys!

Everyone leaves and only Trish and Ventus remain in the library.

Trish: Ventus, I don't want you to face danger alone, I want to be with you.

Ventus: Trish, I, don't know what to say...

Trish: Don't say anything, I just want to kiss you.

When they kiss, they embrace and find love in each other's hearts. It is a passionate kiss that calms their souls and makes them forget about grief and loss and suffering.

While Trish and Ventus kiss, Dexeres thinks about his past life. He cannot help but weep for his lost ones and feel a vast emptiness inside him.

Dexeres: Huh, I have not felt this in a while, considering i don't have a heart to feel with. But that does'nt matter, I must remain in darkness, forever bound to it...

As Dexeres ponders his thoughts, a vile Heartless arises in The Land of Dragons. Now Sora, Donald and Goofy depart as the war reaches a new level. Be here for Chapter Six: Dragon of Darkness...

Chapter Six: Dragon of Darkness

 

Sora, Donald, and Goofy quickly rush towards the gummi ship to go to The Land of Dragons. All of the others are in preparations to go to other worlds, as all fear of the terrible darkness that is slowly enveloping the universe itself.

Donald: Aw, phooey. All I wanted was a little bit of sleep, but now we have to fight again!

Goofy: Don't worry Donald, as soon as we take care of the Heartless or whatever we're facing, you can take a nap. Right now, we all have to look out for each other.

Sora: Goofy's right, now come on, we have to hurry!

Kairi: Sora!

Sora: Kairi!

Kairi: Please be carefull, I don't want anything bad to happen to you.

Sora: I'll be fine. I have Donald and Goofy with me! I love you.

Kairi: I love you too.

Since they do not know if they will see each other again for a while, Sora and Kairi passionately kiss, as if the world would end after.

Donald: Oh, brother...

Goofy: A-hyuck! Don't worry Donald, I'll cover your eyes.

Donald: Hey, what's the big idea!?

Sora: Haha, come on guys, give me a little privacy!

Donald: Oh, alright, come on Goofy, let's go!

Goofy: Allrighty then, see you Kairi!

Kairi: Bye, guys! Sora, please, be carefull, I'll be here waiting for you. Hope you come back soon!

Sora: Don't worry, I will, you be carefull too.

As Sora boards the gummi ship, he looks back towards Kairi, and he knows that in his heart, he will see her again. He smiles and waves goodbye, and Kairi does the same.

Kairi: Sora, I hope I see you again.

Riku: You will Kairi, don't worry, Sora can hold his own.

Kairi: Your right.

Meanwhile in the library, Trish and Ventus keep sharing a passionate kiss.

Ventus: Trish, you really love me?

Trish: Yes, I just had to kiss you, I love you.

Ventus: I love you too. Come on, let's go!

Trish: Right!

As Trish walks away, Ventus smiles and feels content.

Dexeres: Ventus.

Ventus: It's you.

Dexeres: I know about your inner conflict with Vanitas, and I admire the compassion and worry you have for your friends and loved ones. Here, take this, it will help you hold Vanitas at bay.

Ventus: Thanks, but why are you helping me?

Dexeres: I've already lost everything that I held dear, I don't want to see a friend go through the same suffering as I did.

Ventus: Thank you, Dexeres, I appreciate it.

In the meantime, Sora, Donald and Goofy arrive at The Land of Dragons.

Sora: Well, guys, we're here, now we have to look for Mulan.

Goofy: Look Sora, smoke!

Sora: Oh,no, the village!

Suddenly, out of the smoke comes a giant Dragon Heartless fighting against a giant Dragon Unborn.

Donald: Waaak!!!! Two dragons fighting each other!

Goofy: Gosh, I hope Mulan's okay...

Sora: Guys, come on, we have to find her!

They make their way quickly towards the ravaged village, where they find Mulan and Mushu fending off Heartless, Nobodies and Unborn.

Sora: Ragnarok!

Donald: Mega Flare!

Goofy: Shield Strike!

Mushu: Guys, you've come to help us! Mulan, we're saved!

Mulan: Thank goodness!

As the brave warriors fight off their enemies, they think, are all three working together? It is a question yet to be answered. Stay tuned for Chapter Seven: A Fierce Battle...

Chapter Seven: A Fierce Battle

 

As Sora and friends look upon the burnt remains of the village, they see swarms of Heartless, Nobodies and Unborn heading towards them. Sora thinks:-Why are they working together?-

Mulan: Sora, what's wrong!?

Sora: Why are they working together?

Mulan: They want to take us out first so that they can destroy themselves after, to them we are obstacles.

Donald: How did you find that out?

Mulan: When the two dragons destroyed the village, they started to battle each other.

Goofy: Guys, we got trouble!!!

Suddenly, they find themselves battling for their lives as relentless swarms of Unborn attack them.

Sora: Sonic Blade!

Donald: Fire!

Goofy: Shield Barrier!

Mulan: Flame Strike!

At that same moment, a giant Unborn dragon swoops down and wipes out most of the Heartless and Nobodies.

Sora: Wha--What's happening?

Goofy: It's the three dragons!!! We're in trouble now!!!

Mushu: Um, let's see, at time like these we should...RUN!!!!

Sora: No, we have to finish them off, or they'll keep destroying everything.

Mulan: I'm with you Sora!

Mushu: Oh, I got a bad feeling about this!

Meanwhile, Kairi sits under a shady tree in the garden when all of a sudden Dexeres appears before him.

Kairi: Oh, Dexeres, you startled me!

Dexeres: Sorry, it wasn't my intention.

Kairi: What's wrong, you look sad.

Dexeres: It's nothing...

Kairi: Please, tell me, what's wrong?

Dexeres: I-- It's just, I've lost everything that I've ever held dear, and I am seeing that the same will happen with all the worlds, that they will all meet a gruesome end...

Kairi: Please, don't think like that, as long as we are here, Kingdom Hearts will not be tainted by darkness. Why don't you stay here in Radiant Garden?

Dexeres: ...I am a shell of my former self, bound to the darkness. I cannot stay here, I must remain in the shadows, but do not worry, I will come to aid you.

As soon as he finishes speaking these words, he vanishes in the blink of an eye.

Ethan: Master Kairi, Ventus, Trish and I will depart now.

Kairi: All right, please be carefull.

As Kairi looks up to the sky, thinking about Sora, Sora and the others battle the three dragons.

Sora: Climb on the tails and strike them down!

Donald: Waaaak! Easy for you to say!

Mulan: Wait, I see a weak spot in the edge of the wings, we have to strike the wings. Sora is right, we must climb on the tails!

The brave warriors fight desperately to stay alive, and the battle rages across the skies. But the three dragons combine their powers to transform into an even more powerfull beast.

Sora: They have transformed into an even more powerfull dragon!!

Mushu: Wait, who's that over there?

Sora and friends look towards the horizon, and they see a man in armor wielding a keyblade. Who could he be? Find out in Chapter Eight: The Man in Armor...
