OK, so who might this be?:

 

 

(Riku in the trailer) WHO IS ME???

 

There are two clues in the picture that will made you think who this is, first the hair, different that Riku himself, secondly the background, the world is Monstro.

 

 

Okay, here is what I thought that might be him:

 

 

 

I will call him Journal-Riku for now.

 

 

Yes! Jiminy Journal Riku from re:coded! It would really make sense to me that Journal-Riku will appear in Monstro world as it is where Jiminy is. How did Jiminy's original journal came in the world? I don't know. But something tells me, that Journal-Riku is going to tell the real Riku about the 'hurting', about the trio (Terra, Ven and Aqua) and the stuff that has been happening.

This seems plausible to me, at first i was skeptical but you mentioned the hurt and that makes plenty of sense

I think it might be data Riku. Because in the short version of this trailer Maleificent is talking about some kind of world data. I think that Sora might meet Data Sora too. But to me I think Square is going to far with this data thing. I just hope that the story doesn't get screwed up because of it. (don't get mad, you know what I mean)

I'm think Riku Replica. Why the cloak? I don't know, but it seems like every one is having one these days. I just see it more likely to be the Riku Replica than Data-Riku.

you know i notice those things two when watching the trailer and thats a good theory and it might actaully be true but im also thinking it could be replica riku im not sure how he would have came back since the real riku beat him in CoM but still just have to wait and play the game to see (trying not to spoil myself so i said play lol)

Actually, the Data-Riku idea is pretty plausible. Esepecially since he seems to be found within Monstro's stomach. And Jiminy is nearby, which means his journal might be too. But what this Riku's intentions are is beyond me.

Yes, Replica-Riku was beat up by not one, but two protagonists in CoM, Sora and Riku. Riku being the one who annihilated him. Vexen died and there's no way he could create a replica again? and the fact that he is in Monstro would be weird if that is in fact replica Riku. Also, I would think that Replica-Riku wouldn;t wear an organization cloak. There's just too many versions of riku, I find that annoying lol

 

 

There's no definite reason why 'other' KH3D Riku wears a cloak, but what i have in mind (if he is in fact the journal-riku) is that the 'page' in which journal-riku came from was printed during the time when he was with Mickey and they both wear organization cloaks to prevent them from being spotted by other organization members (Remember when Riku used to wear a cloak?). That maybe the reason why journal-riku wears them.

It's a good theory, but the moment I noticed this in the trailer my immediate thought was Replica Riku.

Just how many Riku's are there?!

I think it might be Data Riku. That or it's just Ansem S.O.D messing with Riku. Either way we'll all find out when the game comes out.

tutti frutti. I have a couple of ideas pertaining to there being another Riku in the mix.

- There could have been a number of other Repliku's left over from Vexen replica work

- Since Jiminy's journal is kind of like another location, Data-Riku could have the will to come and go outside of the Journal as he sees fit

- This other Riku could be a type of remnant or spirit that may have some info on what happened in BBS, I guess something similar to Lingering Sentiment in KH2FM.

 

Those are my main theories pertaining to the second Riku. Data Riku was able to come out of Jiminy's journel to help Mickey and the others in Coded. And with the replica project, I don't think that Vexen, with him being a scientist, to just have one copy of something should something go wrong.

i think its most likely data-riku. i agree with zhill though on the thought that if it is repliku, it is not going to be our beloved repliku. it is either a memory, or a test by yen sid, or as he said another replica made by vexen. i highly doubt THE repliku is coming back.

Let's say my theory might be true, the real mystery here is how come data-riku is in RoS (here's assuming that the Monstro world is inside RoS)? The original Jiminy who has the original Jiminy's Journal is in the real world. How does 'real-world' Jiminy-Journal gets into the RoS?

 

In the end, the true answer lies in the game itself. I do not claim my theory as supreme to everyone else. My theory is just one of many possibilities and that include yours.

The other-Riku doesn't show any aggression towards Real-Riku unto the point shown in the trailer. So I guess, he's there to talk to Riku. As to what it is about is still unknown though telling about the hurting make sense.

tutti frutti. I only played coded once and didn't care for it which is why I asked this question. How did Data-Riku come out of the Journal? Unless he somehow managed to create some type of projection of himself along with Data-Sora. I always thought that the message that Namine left about "we must free them from their torment" was the thing to summon Mickey and the others to the journal.

I feel more inclined to think this is the Riku Replica. Both Xion and Repliku were replicas of Sora and Riku respectively, but how they came to be these people's replica's should be distinguished. Both started out as dolls. The Riku Replica was given new artificial memories by Namine, while Xion absorbed memories from Sora and her surrounding's. Repliku obviously didn't have any disturbing gender swapping and had a stable identity. All of his memories were his. Sure they were fake and all, but still his own. Xion on the other hand had her existence entirely based on other people's memories inside her. None of it was her own, and in the end she had to give it back. This brings up the question: Where did Repliku go? I say he went to the realm of sleep. Nobody dies in kh, not even evil Disney characters practically (i.e. Maleficent, Oogie Boogie, Jafar, Hades, Ursula, need I go on?). Of course he could be dead just by not being introduced again, but what sort of a plot is that where you create a replica just to be a filler for one game.
