What was the Anime that seriously got you into Anime?

Posted

Alright, so I'm psyched! Because the Anime that got me into Anime, is getting a fourth season after about four years. This Anime is Zero no Tsukaima, or Familiar of Zero. It had a season per year from 2006 to 2008, and according to my not too reliable resource, the first episode of the fourth and final season will air on January 7th, 2012. Now I've known about the fourth season for a while, and knew it would be sometime soon, but I never knew it would be this soon. This is the anime that I can watch over and over and not have a problem with. So hearing the fourth season and new episodes coming out is a big deal for me.

So to celebrate this, I've decided to ask everyone what Anime made you start loving anime?

The first anime I ever watched was, probably, Pokemon. From there, I eventually watched Yu-Gi-Oh, Digimon, DragonBall Z, and Yu Yu Hakusho. I watched plenty of Toonami and saw many other anime, such as Gundam, Rurouni Kenshin, and BoBoBo-Bo-BoBoBo. I didn't like any of those. I started watching Naruto, but lost track of it and stopped watching anime, although at the time, I was kind of young and I didn't know of them as anime. I just considered them cartoons. It wasn't until freshmen year in high school that I made a bunch of friends who were into anime, at the time, mostly Naruto. So, I got back into Naruto and then eventually got into Bleach, Death Note, Soul Eater, FullMetal Alchemist, Shin-Chan, D. Gray Man, etc.

The first anime I ever saw was Pokemon. The one that got me hooked though was Tsubasa.

I would say Pokemon, DBZ, and Sailor Moon, but unfortunately, Naruto was the first anime that made me look for anime on the internet back in 2005.

I used to love Anime! I think it would've been xXxholic that got me into it! I kinda stopped watching a couple years ago

Probably Pokemans, Yugioh or DBZ. I watched them all when I was really young too.

I want to say Sailor Moon, but when I watched it I didnt know it was an anime. Just noticed that the art looked different than the other shows. I think the first show I heard classified to me as an anime was Digimon (during Fox Kids Anime Invasion). So after I found thats probably what Sailor Moon was I tried to track it down again. And after that came my Dragonball Z obsession DRAGON DRAGON ROCK THE DRAGON!!!  which lasted a LONG time. So I guess Ill have to say Digimon.

Dragon Ball Z. The first anime i ever watched, and i hold it as my fav. anime of all time.

Dragonball and Dradonball Z. Back to back on toonami. All night long. I came back craving more.

YuGiOh! then my friend introduced me to Naruto, and well, one led to another and I became otaku.

Probably the first anime I ever seen was one of these three Voltron, Speed Racer, or Pokemon. Though what got me into anime was a friend recommending One Piece, I was desiring to watch something so I watched the first 200 episodes on Hulu. At that point I would have had to wait until hopefully Hulu would go there again, or purchase all the missing episodes... (or the third option I shall not mention) Either way I was now a bit more curious than I was about anime, so next time I ran out of things to watch I decided to look at what anime I could watch. I think my next anime was Baka to Test/Baka and Test. It was a fun comedy. Then I watched Tiger and Bunny, a nice take on the superhero genre. (both of those shows were during their original runs) And before I knew it anime was slowly and slowly taking up more of what I chose to watch. And oddly enough even though I started on a Shonen, some of my favorites series have been Shojo.

Pokemon or Naruto... But then I stopped watching anime. I might be getting back into it after coming to this website, I've already started watching one show a friend suggested!

Claymore.

Well technically my first anime was Inyuasha, but I didn't start liking anime until I watched Wolfs Rain, which by far, is the best Anime I've ever watched. Anime is so unique, so I wasn't watching just one, I had to watch like 5 at the time which probably lines up with Fullmetal Alchemist and Vampire Knight.

Mmmmm,I watched a lot of anime in my childhood and I can't really specify.

But If I think there is an anime that really got me to become an anime fan, then it has to be:Pokemon,Dragon Ball Z , Detective Conan (named Case Closed in America I think)and Dragon Quest Dai no Daibouken

Those four animes,I wathced the ever living shit outta them

I'm not really a big anime fan, but my first was Pokemon. Naruto's what got me into the genre, though.

Dragon Ball Z. I saw Kai on Nicktoons, during the fight with Great Ape Vegeta, and i was instantly hooked. But it wasnt really until i started going to the anime club at my library last year that i started looking into other great animes.

Dragonball Z (not Kai) started it all for me. Though it was the main one, there was also Digimon, Yughioh, Ravemaster, Zatchbell, and Bobobo-bobo-bobo.

My first ever anime (except Pokemon) was Nabari no Ou. It was something a friend suggested and it was alright. But it didn't strive me towards anime.

To be honest, Sword Art Online was the one that made me touch the surface of the wonderful fantasy world. Looking back, I had no idea why I was so overly hyped up about Sword Art Online. It's alright and I think slightly overhyped worldwide. What's funny is that I saw Kirito kiss Asuna gif signature on KH13. Don't remember who it belonged to. But I was so curious what it was about and found SAO. Now, I think it's safe to say I'm an anime/manga fan. Didn't really start fully watching a lot of anime until this past Spring/Summer season. 13 Animes finished...so many more watching now and so many more to go~

One Piece and Fullmetal Alchemist.

Can't really say...Back when TV was good, there were a lot animes on that I watched...I just knew that I loved them....Maybe the two that got me into it fully was Digimon and Pokemon...I remember i use to call it, "Those Japanese Cartoons." xD
