It's because Nomura wants at least 1 KH game on every new gen system. Which includes the 3DS since it's a new gen console.

Just be glad that they are even making this game and not just waiting for KH3. A KH game is a KH game, shouldn't matter what system it is for.

Let me tell you something kid, the 3DS has a lot of potential. It can do things other systems can't.

Knowing Nomura there won't be a remaster of this game, ever.

And if you want this game so much then just get money and buy a 3DS, plain and simple. No one's gonna change the world just for you because most people are loving the fact that this game will be for the 3DS.

Agree^ about the Vita, the only reason I would buy that brick is for a KH. That thing is HUGE. And so far I see no good games for it. I'm not into Uncharted or other Playstation exclusives.

I agree with kinode, but I understand your frustration most of KH games have been on handhelds & we've yet to see not one KH game on the PS3 which is understanding considering the fact that the PS3 has been around longer then the 3DS it also means you have to spend more money if you don't already own a 3DS. but try to look at it like this: with KH3d being released we'er that much closer KH3,& Nomura is saving the best sequel for last n I don't know about you but I prefer to have HH3d on a handheld console & KH3 on PS3 then having it the other way around. so chill out, yes it's a pain now, but trust me in the end, the wait will be worth it. aside from that I welcome you to KH13.com. A lot of fans are psyched for this game and the 3ds has been breaking records .. there's plenty of games out for it and it's going to run strong this year too considering the lineup. Besides .. this is the third kh game coming to nintendo, get over it.

Because the 3DS is a great system, one deserving of a KH game. I know everyone wants a KH game on PS3, so do I, but we'll just have to wait for KH3. And all the non-numbered games have been on handhelds, so it is not much of a surprise that 3D is on a handheld.

Why is KH3D not on PS3? Because Sora isn't the main character.

The reason why this game is needed for the 3Ds is because the 3Ds was released last year and the 3Ds would be perfect for this game because you can change the 2d mode to 3D mode.

Why not make a KH game for 3DS? It's an awesome piece of hardware, and it's more powerful than any other platforms KH games have been on. Games are hardly made on the PS2 anymore, so of course this wouldn't be on that. PS3 is probably being saved for KH3, which is expected, so it can be uber-epic. No, this won't be remastered on the PS3, because the visuals are beautiful enough already, and games like KH, Re:CoM, and KH2 deserve it more, since they can hardly be found in stores anymore compared to the recent titles on DS and PSP.

The original name is actually 3D and the sole reason it is called that is because it'll be on the 3DS and not the way around, so Nomura google searched those words that starts with 'D' so he found out that 'Dream', 'Drop' and 'Distance' is a good combination.

 

 

Onto the main issue, I think that, in business perspective, it is always because of profit. However, I believe that one of the reason would be so that people will get a chance to play the series on whatever console they own. It is bad because it will cost you more just to follow the story but of course there is always an alternative. You could always watch gameplays on youtube. The only down side to that is you can't experience the game, obviously.

 

I seriously think that they should stop console swapping as it does affect fanbase. I also think that it is a marketing strategy and it is working so far.
