I find it beyond annoying when I can't immediately understand a post. I feel like if I take the time to write proper sentences, other people should too. I'm not nuts or anything, everyone makes mistak

  • It's hard for me not to judge people based on their grammar and spelling, but after interacting with so many people whose first language isn't English, I'm getting better about not passing judgments,

  • I lol at people who say this isn't school and spelling isn't important, and feel sorry for them. That answer your question?

well english isnt my first langauge but i try to improve my skills and edit my posts when i have made grammar mistakes,i respect that there are people who dont want posts like ''kinfom haierts isn besrt'' :D

It doesn't need to be perfect,as long as I can read and understand it,I'm good!

If it makes text illegible then it's annoying.

If it's just typos though then I don't really care.

I don't mind bad grammer so long as I can tell what the person is saying. However, I do mind bad grammer if I'm having a hard time determining what the person is saying.

Its important to me because when I see people who use bad grammar and spelling, I expect them to be younger kids. While on the other hand, I expect older people to have neat and understandable sentences with correct grammar and spelling. As you get older I expect you to proof read your posts before posting, to see if they have any typos or sloppy sentences. If your posts still have typos after posting them then you should edit your posts and fix them.

Well I'm not any grammar Nazi or anything, but i still prefer to see that people use good grammar. N0T D1Z, U kn0w

When I'm talking in private with other people online (KH13's PM and chatbar system, Facebook and such) it really doesn't matter, as long as I can understand it.

But when we're talking about threads and posts on KH13, and on other forums, it matters.

I am Dyslectic, but still I am a writer xD my life is a joke.

I try my best to write properly online, but I don't mind it too much if people are a little lazy with their spelling. If someone abbreviates every other word or uses text talk it can be pretty annoying but at the end of the day as long as I can understand what they're saying that's all that matters. One of my friends a long time ago had absolutely atrocious grammar and spelling and sometimes it was hard to understand her, but I can put up with stuff like that because it might not be her fault or English might not have been her first language.

When I'm online I don't give a damn about spelling and grammar as long as I understand the message, but offline especially on applications if I find one spelling mistake, it goes straight into the trash can.

Omg! Me too, like it's fine not type perfect just don't misspell every other word but, yeah if it's on a paper then I get a little fussy otherwise it's not a big deal to me.

I don't really care, but it does get annoying when I can't even understand the post

I'm fine with a few typos. But when people talk to me with no grammar at all, and I cannot understand what they are saying, it just annoys the hell out of me.

Important- I judge people on their language skills.

That isn't to say I am one of those people who refuses to read a post with perfect English. I can understand if English isn't your native language, or your dyslexic, or maybe have some disability that impairs your typing skills. Its when you really have no excuse for typing so poorly other than laziness that I become annoyed. I definitely judge on grammar and spelling, unless of course you provide an excuse as to why your's is poor. Spelling errors don't annoy me as much as grammar and punctuation errors, because everyone makes typos once in a while. When you're constantly spelling even easy words wrong, however, it is completely annoying. Capitalization and punctuation are needed at a bare minimum, and I refuse to read anything lacking them.

Oh, and I absolutely hate that people use poor grammar and spelling on purpose. If you are capable of using them, but just don't, then please stop being so incredibly lazy. It takes hardly any time to capitalize and punctuate, especially if you are typing properly.

I think you do quite well for yourself considering English isnt your first language :)

I dont really care but if I can't understand it, it's just plain annoying.

Well it's really annoying if I can't read it bad grammar annoys me little sincat school people never say words with R'S in them it goes like this when their counting their it sounds like this one...two.....three......fou...... I always say you forgot the R! I bug any one who does that! but yeah if i can read it i'm fine with it.

Type-o's can be hard for me to understand, but that's not what bothers me. What really bothers me is the swearing, cussing, cursing, a.k.a. inappropriate language.

That isn't spelling and grammar though.(That would be "language" or "terms") And this is a 13+ website, in the Internet you will aways find swearing wherever you go, no exceptions.

I mean I get that overly used it can be annoying but we're kinda getting off the subject anyway.

Tl;dr Cursing isn't much of a problem considering you're unexceptionally gonna have it anywhere especially on boards.
