I guess the only good thing we can see here is that they managed to make the XL version with a slightly longer battery life. Most people may brush this off as '30 more minutes? Big whoop' but considering it has larger screens that will take more power than the smaller screens, it shows Nintendo has the technology to make a more efficient battery than the current one for the 3DS. So whenever there is a 3DS redesign, it is certain to have a longer battery life.

But you would think with the reaction that Nintendo has never made an XL version before. Oh wait...

Still not interested in one, though

In all honesty it seems to early for a new version of the 3DS. Plus its a little big for being a handheld, it would be a pain to carry that thing around in your pocket xD

I don't own a 3DS yet, might as well buy this.. BUT WHERE'S THE SECOND CIRCLE PAD!

Meh it's alright. :/

I don't think it's gonna be any better, especially since they didn't upscale the resolution. But I'm perfectly happy with my normal 3DS, so I'm not gonna complain about it. Plus, I'd hate to play Kid Icarus: Uprising on that monstrosity O.o

"Not interested."

People like me need a bigger screen, so stop complaining.

hm....

it's nice, and im sure the extra battery life would be awesome.....but if it's anything like the dsixl, it will be to big for me to play comfortably....

I don't really mind the 3DS XL. If you want longer battery life for your 3DS, just turn the brightness down and don't play in 3D so much. Works for me. O3O

My other option is that I really don't care.

I'm indifferent. Sora96 hit the nail on the head. Hating the device is senseless. The reason there is no second circle pad is because that would divide the customers. By including the second pad, the XL would be inherently better. Current 3DS owners would be forced to upgrade or by a Circle Pad Pro. Developers would be forced to cater to both systems, neglect the second pad, or require the second pad. INCLUDING the second pad (and the two extra triggers) would have been a stupid mistake.

Why are people complaining that it isn't better than the current 3DS? That means you don't have any reason to buy it if you already own one! The XL is just for people who want a bigger screen.

personally i don't really care about the 3DS XL. i mean it's bigger but the pixel count remains the same, resulting in lower quality images. plus i'm an ambassador and enjoy my 20 free games very much.

And, for those of you angry about the lack of a second circle pad, if you haven't figured it out by now, Nintendo never planned on the 3DS having two circle pads. The Circle pad pro is the ads version of the nunchuck for wii. Not required but it adds to the games. (although a lot of wii games require it) Its not like the 3ds is bad without it. It is still beating the vita worldwide.

I think Nintendo will attract some new customers this way but I don't think its going to revolutionize the system.

If people want a 3DSXL then by all means go and buy it, but all it does (apart from the increase of battery life by a small margin) is increase the size of the screen to a visibly pixelly state, and that's just not the kind of thing I'd want for 3D games that are supposed to look good. I saw my sister's DSiXL and whilst the bigger screen was cool, the pixelly-ness of the screen was too offputting... But, each to their own. Obviously there's people who DO want it else Nintendo wouldn't have brought it out.

As for the second circle-pad, I don't get the big deal over that. It'd be nice to have, but it's not necessary, and I'm perfectly happy without one.

I was sort of expecting it. I totally saw it coming and I'm sure I'm not the only one. As for the system, I dunno about you guys but it look freaking ugly. Sorry but even if this had come out when I didn't have a 3DS, I still would have stuck with the one I have now. I never really liked XL versions anyways. Happy w/ my Aqua Blue :)

Why would they think of making a larger model? Who will buy it anyway? Not me, that's for sure.

No. Just no.

I just don't like it, imo.

I prefer the original 3DS design, the XL looks like it's not portable anymore.
