So, I have been aware that I was born as a blue baby. What I didn't know...is that it took a toll on my later years.
I was watching a home movie with my mom yesterday, where I was watching myself at 2 years old. As it turns out, I was having problems at that age. Serious problems.
You see, the blue baby thing sort messed up my brain, and it started to show at that age. My mom described the problem (I don't know if there is a name for this...), but basically my brain would just "turn off" for 5 seconds, and just "turn back on". Apparently, this would happen periodically.
So, I had to take medicine....several times over, because most of it was making me worse. i was going nuts, hitting my head on walls, running around, biting myself....it was firetrucked up.
So, thank God that I was able to overcome that, considering that my doctors told me I had a chance at becoming slow....but I'm not. I started communicating and learning...and I haven't had a problem since. That was 13 years ago. I'm 15 years going on 16 now.
I figured I'd post this just to share this little piece of lore that I had just found out recently. If you're reading this, thank you.
I feel blessed that I have a second chance at a normal life.
