I keep hearing people bitch about Final Fantasy VII saying it's boring and has shitass pixelated graphics.

 

What these morons fail to realize is that this is a game back from the earlier days of console gaming. I'm hearing most of these pathetic morons rant on a 15 year old game on amazon.com and GameFAQ's.

 

I have the game. There's nothing for bad I can say about it. The only think I would disagree with is that it's graphics totally stand out from other PSOne games.

 

So what's up with the hate? Not too many people like Final Fantasy VII these days.

Pathetic morons? I know, how dare they think differently than you. FFVII happens to be my personal favorite in the series. Do I think it's the best? Far from it. As much as I love the game to death, I don't like siding myself with the people who can't or refuse to find any flaws in it, and I'm not just talking about the graphics. The reason people hate on it these days is because it's fair game. Given how much it revolutionized the JRPG market, it was difficult to say anything bad about it without getting your head chomped off, but it's been over a decade since it came out. With the hype died down, people are finally taking a more objective look at the game and they feel it's safe to say that, no, FFVII isn't perfect, yes, some things could've been handled better, and maybe, just maybe, it's not the absolute best game in the franchise despite its popularity and the new things it brought to the table.

 

As for the people who think it's boring? You can't expect to be interested in every story you come across, in books or games. If they didn't get into FFVII's story, then they didn't get into it. You found entertainment in it, they didn't. Big deal, but when you're indifferent about something and so many people keep touting it as something incomparably awesome, of course you're gonna start to hate it just from how it keeps getting shoved in your face. It's just like a certain cartoon with a poor reputation on this very site. You know the one.

Final Fantasy VII is fun. The Materia system is great, and the story ranges from quite good to silly.

The graphics are terrible. Now, the reason for this is that the team had 6 months to learn how to use 3D graphics, but if we base everything on time, effort and skill, then I should be able to post a picture of a pixel, and have it be hailed as the greatest thing of all time.

The fact of the matter is, there were MUCH better looking things out there in '98. The CGI was nice, except when characters showed up.

All in all, VII hasn't aged TERRIBLY, but it IS showing its age. Games like IX and VIII manage to hold up better as modern games.

I don't hate it, but no matter how hard I tried, I just simply couldn't get into it. Does that make me a "pathetic moron" as you put it?

 

Regardless of if someone agrees with you or not, or whether you like what they have to say or not, you have to respect that they have their own opinion.

 

I have to agree with baylaust here. I have tried to play the game and I just did not enjoy it as much as others have. At the time it was made I do think it was a pretty well done game and I do think it's one of the better Final Fantasy games but I myself just can't enjoy it like others have. But in the end it's just a person's opinion about the game and you can't really change a person's feelings by bashing them and using name-calling to get your point across, if there is one. Sometimes despite how great others may think FFVII was there will be an equal amount that doesn't agree with them.

 

It's just like when comparing a TV show. There will be PLENTY of people that enjoy watching said television show but every now and then there will be a few others that do not quite enjoying like the others have. Not everyone is going to like the television but there is an equal if not greater fanbase supporting it but calling those who like it or hate it "pathetic morons" or "idiotic children" isn't going to solve anything. In the end it's all a matter of an opinion. Whether you agree with their opinion or not is up to you but you shouldn't get offended to the point of name-calling regardless if their justification of why they dislike it is legitimate or idiotic. Just tell them they're missing out and move on.

FF VII is great game, maybe my favourite FF game, but isn't my favourite game in general. It isn't perfect, there is flaws in it, like in every game there is.

And its just personal opnion. I'm not angry that my friend didn't like FF VII at all and said that it was boring, that is just his opnion.

the only thing I hate about FF is that I can't complete any of it's games...there always comes a time against a boss or something that I can't cross over :@@@...the only FF I have completed in my entire life is Dirge Of Cerberus and to think I have played them all :PPPP....I find DoC easy because it's a third person shooter not like the others where you have to wait for a gauge to be filled and then attack "...that's what bugs me about FF :@...that gauge...I find it most annoying :@

Final Fantasy 7 is the best game in the entire Final Fantasy series. It has probably the best/deepest story line out of almost any other game that is out today (aside from KH....duh.) I'm sure if the people ranting about FF7 actually play it and have the fear of Sephiroth bashed in them, then they will know just how awesome FF7 is.

The entire FFVII fanbase is pretty terrible. That could contribute to all the hate.

I know people in real life who haven't played any FF game except for VII, for example. They act like it was God's gift to the earth because "omg fanart of hot guys" and "lolfadsamIinonityet?"

tutti frutti. Video games have just as much plublicity as other forms of entertainment: movies, tv shows, books, etc. Just because one person likes something doesn't mean everyone else has to like it. The FF series in general is solid, but there are some games in the series that I like more so than others. I didn't care for FFXIII, for example, though I liked FFX and FFXII. People have that right to like and dislike what they want. Of course there are those that will both like and dislike FFVII, that doesn't mean people should just go out of control for having their own viewpoints about the game. I believe that FFVII was an overall solid game and something that I would go back to play again. A number of us like various games of the KH franchise, which in turn brought us here, that doesn't mean that, despite what games of the KH series we like and dislike, that there should be an all out war for our differences.

Hehehe if is a FF topic you can oly expect that.... Anyway... in my opinion FFVII is good just like the rest of the classical FF (1-10) .. but as because of improvement of eras it has become "Not too good" because they have another perspective of the game. Now everything is good grafics and nothing else.... ; but anyway... i think the story is good... sephiroth as a villain... meh... Kefka and Kuja are better, but as developvment of characters and music is one of the best.... (Aerith why?!! :,().

X had so much potential but it is like they got tired of making it.

Tidus was a pathetic character. Yuna was so predictable. The only great character is Auron.

Too predictable, tedious, not very well developed, poor love story. X-2 was horrible and made little sense and made X look even worse.

I have never played it, but it looks good.

It's an over-rated game that's why.

 

Play Final Fantasy IX, VI, VIII and maybe even IV, XII or X.

 

It's a good game at best but jesus tap dancing christ it is not the best Final Fantasy game ever made. That's why it gets hate from certain people. It gets praise for having a bad ass villain and a whiny protagonist... To this day I have no idea what the story even was because I went into the game thinking it was going to be spectacular and it really wasn't so I just didn't find it in me to care. I beat it and haven't played it since.
