Hey guys, I just wanted to talk to you about my opinion on the two handheld systems from Nintendo and Sony. These systems have been on store shelves for a while now, and I’ve seen lots of new games for them. I myself own a Nintendo 3DS, and I think that the system is spectacular. I haven’t gotten a PSVita yet, and I don’t plan to anytime soon unless a Kingdom Hearts game or a new Dissidia game is announced for the system. Now then, I think that both systems are good, and as you can all see, both are competing to be the best handhelds on the current market. I like Sony as much as the next guy, but I think that the 3DS is better, because it has lots of quality games like the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time(which is the second Zelda game I played in my life, and I loved it.), Super Mario 3D Land, Kid Icarus: Uprising and most importantly in my opinion, Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance. But I also think that the PSVita has lots of potential, because the games have graphics on par with the PS3, and it has the excellent cross platform play, which is a curious feature. But the only thing that kills this system is it’s overwhelming price on both the 3G and Wifi versions. Well anyways, I think that the future of these two handhelds is bright, considering all the cool games that can be done on them. So guys, what do you think of these two systems?

3ds forever, because it's got kh3d on it, and a lot of other cool games. But if we were to bring up graphics, the psvita would be the clear winner.

tutti frutti. I would have to go with the 3DS. To me it has its own great library of games that people are familiar with, and those that people can expect to get their hands on. Same with the Vita. Also, the 3DS is backwards compatible, which I think is a plus for those that have DS games, or at the very least the option to buy them in order to help keep the life of the 3DS. The Vita doesn't really jump out at me. Unless there are a line up of games that catch my attention, there really isn't that much for me. Yeah, it has graphics, but what about the other elements to a game, such as gameplay, replay value, etc. I'm currently waiting to see if there are any good games out there for me before I decide to get a Vita.

I agree 100%. The PSVita is good, but doesn't have enough games for everyone's taste yet. But it will soon!

Just a point though, the psvita can't fully recreate a ps3 game due to the engines being different. Imagine ffxiii and ffxiii 2 on the psvita. Yeah, it doesn't seem very likely until its watered down. The psvita does have lots of potential, but simply can't create the same experiences you'd get on a ps3. Why not just play the game on a large tv screen?(unless it's vita-exclusive)

I say 3DS why? well 3D it's in the name the PSVita just finally got a touch screen and on the subject of games both started out with game remakes up the 3DS is finally getting a collection of its own.

Also as a fact to be known the 3DS is currently on the top of the market in Japan and PSVita last I check was 3rd on the list,

3DS for right now, the launch titles for the Ps Vita are terrible

 

I have a Vita, and all I use it for right now is Mod Nation(It came with it) and Youtube/Web Browser.

They are both great systems, but the 3DS has the edge when it comes to software (and it's also cheaper).

It's niether here or there which is better. They both exsist and appeal to Different people. 3DS will appeal to all the people who like Pokemon and more family friendly games and Rpgs on the go. The Vita will handle the Nostalgia and More mature crowds with more Mature games

Vita only has AC3L...that I'm interested in.

 

(Yes I am buying it for ONE game ._. Hopefully if BBSv2 exists it'll be for the Vita)

That has nothing to do with anything. Do you have a vita? If you have one system then you are being biased to the other. You guys say the 3ds is awesome because it has kh. What if Kh goes on the vita? Then everyone would start to praise that system. Until you say that you have fully experienced the vita then you can trash it

Its clear that Nintendo is the King of handhelds. The Vita is more hardcore and about the system while the 3DS is just about games(would it kill Nintendo to put a usb port in the 3DS for people who have no router to get the system update).

Both systems have a lot of offer. I don't own a PSVita (I have a PSP), and I own a 3DS. Therefore my opinion is biased, BUT I'm going to go with the 3DS because I feel it is more "technological." I praise Sony for their work on the PSVita and I'm sure it will prove successful. Lots of games on the 3DS have been appealing to me and the 3DS just has a lot to offer. Sometimes I find the PSP main screen, or whatever, confusing and I'm not sure if the PSVita is the same but that's a con on my behalf.

 

Kingdom Hearts is on 3DS which may be a key factor for why we all love it so much. If Kingdom Hearts is on PSVita in the future ( :blink:) then I'd go to buy it. But I think my answer would stay with 3DS for many reasons. It's in 3D, it has a better selection of games that appeal to me, more family-friendly, and my whole family loves Nintendo.

I agree with Dark Sora, I won't buy the vita until a they announce a release date for Final Fantasy X HD

I have both and I love them both. They do different things. One is when I'm in the mood for epical console type experiences (Vita) and the other is for short bursts (apart from KH of course). They cross over into each others territory sometimes though.
