Is this intentional or are they random ads that just happened to be of KH3D today?

They get money for the ad's, in most cases, and websites cost money and THIS is a Kingdom Hearts fansite.

No, if Google notices the same IP clicking the ad repeatedly, they'll ban DChiuch's adsense account.

I think the ads make a nice view for the site

I prefer the DDD ads to all those other ads.
