Hi everyone! Ok so basically I need help on picking a book.....or manga too I guess. I generally like dark fantasy such as the book Angel's Furry or the manga book, Pandora Hearts. But if u have a recommendation please let Lee know!

I just finished 50 shades of gray trilogy a little over a month ago.... It was good... okay... the style of writing could have been vastly improved. She thought that was kinky I will show her kinky >.>

Books I recommend:

Night Angel Trilogy

Forbidden Game Trilogy

Mediator series (aimed at a younger/teen audience, small novels rather like 500 page books, its about a girl who sees ghosts)

Manga:

I'm using the free Mango app on my phone to download and read manga for free :3

Vampire Knight, Host Club, Midnight Secretary (contains sexual images).

There was one that was dark anime advertised at the start of Host Club DVD I bought, I'll watch the trailers on it at some point and check if it had a manga it was based off.

Sci-Fi:

I, Robot

The Martian Chronicles

Jurassic Park

Fantasy:

Game of Thrones

Dragons of Autumn Twilight

Guards, Guards - Terry Pratchett

Period:

Treasure Island

The Mysterious Island

The Time Machine

Comics:

Watchmen

The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen

Sandman

Manga:

Full Metal Alchemist

Death Note

Gankutsuou (is an anime)

Edited by Gambler'sApprentice

Uhm.. I was going to say a Song of Fire and Ice, but Game of Thrones covers that.

So.....

Black Dagger Brotherhood novels

Defense Devil (Manga)

Are you Alice? (Manga)

Angel Sanctuary (Manga)

That's all I can think of off the top of my head.

Well for manga i would say Berserk, but be warn it is a seinen manga and rated M, but it is really good

BRAVE NEW WORLD!

Oh, another one, The Vampire Hunter D novels are pretty good. Easy reads, but they contain some pretty good gems.

My best recommendation has already been said, but either way, I suggest the Game of Thrones series.

If you want something dark and/or science fiction try any of the Warhammer 40,000 books. You'll find dark stories about religious zealots, super soldiers, demons, thousands of ordinary people being sent to their deaths, grotesque lifeforms consuming everything and more. But among all of this chaos, war, and devastation there are a handful truly amazing heroes. Some of the people you could read about will truly inspire you. If you or anyone reading are interested shoot me a message and I will tell you where to start.

The Fault In Our Stars by John Green

John green is my favourite contemporary author, and everything by him is amazing. My favourite is actually Will Greyson, will greyson, the collab he did with that other author. Paper Towns is pretty superb, too. DFTBA

I would suggest The Count of Monte Cristo if your looking for a dark drama. It's my favourite book of all time, and it's a rather thick book too. Such wonderful story telling. <3 Dantes <3

Bleach.

YuYuHakusho.

and

Death Note.

Book, The Lord Of The Rings

Manga, Tegami Bachi

Well, I like to read, but what I mostly read are Game Informer magazines, lol. But I have read novels from time to time. I highly recommend that you read The Lord of the Rings trilogy, it is one heck of a saga, and they even made movie adaptions of those novels a few years ago. But if you've already seen the movies, read the books anyways, because you'll have a blast reading them. I also recommend The Best of Me by Nicholas Sparks, it's a romantic story. It's the first book of his that I've read, and now I know why he's such a renowned author. And last but not least, I recommend you read Legends of Shannara, the Measure of the Magic, I'm currently reading it, and I'm so hooked on it! It's got all sorts of awesome fantasy elements, and one hell of a villain. So yeah, those are my recommendations. ^^

The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan

The Devil's Arithmetic by Jane Yolen

The Midwife's Apprentice by Karen Cushman

Julie of the Wolves by Jean Craighead George

The City of Ember by Jeanne DuPrau

A Wrinkle in Time by Madeline L'Engle

The Da Vinci Code by Dan Brown

Among the Hidden by Margaret Peterson Haddix

50 Shades of Grey. Jk jk o_o

Divergent (haven't finished it, but it's pretty good)

Tiger's Curse (bit more on the love triangle side, very good though)

And despite the horrible portrayal from the movie, Twlight was one of the best books I've ever read

It depends... What are some of your favorite books? That way I'll have a better idea of what you like, and perhaps some things that I think are similar to it.

One dark fantasy series I really enjoyed is the Wicked Lovely series. Another series I loved was The Healing Wars. The latter isn't as dark as the former, but it has an interesting twist on the evils of healing that I enjoyed.
