You mean Cloud of Darkness?

I never saw anything special in them to be honest. I've played them on occasions but they never appealed to me so I never bought them.

I've always wondered the exact same thing, Tails.

The lag is on Activision's part thank you. And from a cod whore like myself, we just like fast paced-rambo style of the game. CoD is not as complicated or complex as other shooters, which is why the series doesn't change much, because if it does, it'll lose its image. Yes I get mad at the game a frequent points, but its what we love about it, we can do insanely good from our standards or sometimes do badly.

In a nutshell? Its easy to pick up and play, and everyone knows about it. That simple.

It's addicting, people like shooting each other, even if there is little change from each game

Agreed, it's just a Wash, Rinse, Repeat game now. It will never be able to beat the Genius that is 007 Goldeneye for the N64.

Right with ya, Tails. Even playing it with friends isn't worth it anymore...

Call of Duty is boring, and every "sequel" is basically exactly the same as the one before it. Halo is by far the best in FPS's.

The appeal... is that everyone else is buying it so you have to get it... its pure propaganda techniques with mediocre gameplay, nothing else.

Eh, discussing whether or not CoD is horrible is pretty easy. It's generally people who have realized what a waste of time and money on it is vs people who haven't realized it yet.

Determining which truly is the best FPS is another story and only leads to fanboy flamewars. I love Halo but overall I feel that Battlefield was the best FPS, now it's been brutally raped by EA so I dunno.

What is really looking great right now it's Planetside 2. 2000 player battles, enormous maps, unrestricted warfare, three unique factions, MMO elements, and it's free to play without the need to pay to win. What more could you want in an FPS? The only thing holding back Planetside 2 from dominating the genre right now in a time where people desperately need something new is that you need an expensive computer to play it which is exactly what stopped the original game from taking off. Back then, nobody had a computer that could run it decently and Planetside 2 will suffer a similar problem though not on the scale of the original as PC gaming is starting to get more and more popular as gamers get bored with their 7 year old consoles.

"Dude, you gettin' the new Call of Duty?"

"Yeah, man, everyone else is."

"Okay, sweet, I'll get it too then."

Ta-da.

B-but you also agreed with my other posts before in the past, remember?

Few reasons:

It's easy, it doesn't need good aim or lot of skill and experience to do good in CoD, you can pretty much brainlessly run around the map and kill everyone without thinking even for second. Also it requires zero teamwork to win so it's very easy game to play. For some reason people just like to play something so casual.

As some people have said, it has a lot of fast paced rambo action - without that Rambo. People just seem to like game where you are in spawn of other team after runnign 10 seconds. And I don't know how people call this game fast paced when all people do is camp in every corner of the map.

Oh boy I could rant for hours about this.

CoD started going downhill after World at War which in my opinion was the best Call of Duty game and the last good one. Modern Warfare 2 was a disaster, both in it's campaign and multiplayer. Black Ops was equally horrific however Zombies redeemed the game in some cases and made it worth buying. MW3 I didn't bother with, it was overall better than MW2 but was a meh game in generally. Nothing blatantly bad, but nothing that made you want to keep playing it. Black Ops 2 I don't know much about, it's basically a ripoff of Battlefield 2142. I was going to get it for the Zombies but they completely screwed over the storyline so there goes that.

In a nutshell

-Every COD game after World at War

-The community is awful, always was, currently is, and will always be.

-Horrible online support

-A new (rushed) game every year essentially makes COD a subscription considering the previous game dies out pretty quickly.

-Its running on an old 2005 game engine that hasn't gone under any major changes, the fanboys will insist it has improved and is the best of all FPS games

-Multiplayer gameplay = Spawn, Run, Shoot, Die, Repeat

-Skill level is extremely low. I'm fine with shooters being casual friendly, but I don't think a game where you can top the score board sitting in a room and waiting for people to run through the doorway is fun.

Activision is like EA, they don't care about making a decent game, all they care about is that you spent money on it. If they can keep the impulse buyers of the world spending 60 dollars on their repetitive crap then kudos to them.

I agree with every word you said. CoD is very uncreative and repetitive with each new game that comes out. Let's face it, Activison can't come up with any other good ideas to make a nw gae. SO they just rely on CoD to make a quick buck. it's sad really. Oh, and guess what. Call of duty: Declassified just got a 4.0 from IGN for being terrible lol. nStigate games did worse at making a CoD game than Activison has lol.

Well Amon pretty much said what i was gonna say so there's my input. I can't even play with my friends anymore because of how it is now

It's basically mindless shooting, and raging little kids.

Lazy to explain, so here's 30 minutes of it.
