I'm about to head off to bed right now, but because I like to wake up to some nice, constructive ideas...

 

What part of the main site of KH13 do you think I should work on? I've been doing a bit of work on the forum side of things recently, what with the recent upgrades, as well as planning sectional moderators and some other things... but the main half of the site needs some attention too! It is particularly important at this moment as interest in the Kingdom Hearts series is not quite as high as we've seen before, so I really do need to work on some stuff worthy of being featured on the front page in order to keep people coming back. No one likes a dead homepage.

 

So yeah, please, constructive ideas for how I can create more activity? Try and think about what would be best for the site (ie. what *most* people would want), rather than what you want specifically-- not that I don't care about that, but this isn't what I'm asking!

 

Ideas?

its great already, kh13 is the best website about and only KH, please dont be like the other website that put TWEWY information every day ¬¬ I like that game but please dont do that

The site is awesome as it is, but some changes couldn't hurt. Hey, that's not a bad idea. What about TWEWY and Final Fantasy updates? That would make fans of these series come to the site and meet the Kingdom Hearts series. Obviously, we shouldn't cover all page with these news.  3 per month would fit right I think. Also, searching for cool Kh stuff could work. Like Windows and Browser themes, for example. hope this helps.

Don't worry, we are 100% Kingdom Hearts and staying that way. There might be a day where we expand beyond the series, but that will happen on different URLs. kh13.com will remain 100% Kingdom Hearts.

There's a large group of people that like TWEWY, but the problem with introducing something like that is that you annoy the 90% of people that don't like it... or rather, the 90% of people that don't expect it. People visit the homepage of KH13 expecting KH news, so if we have lots of articles that aren't KH news, then people get annoyed.This brings me to something I've been considering, which is regular creative (images, videos, writing) competitions that have front-page support, as well as articles about great KH-related creations. Now, I've usually been completely against this kind of thing. I believe that the KH13 homepage should be a place for KH news. Personally, when I used to be just a fan and not a webmaster, when I went on KH sites and saw articles about competitions and stuff, I'd be annoyed-- since I was expecting news. It turned me off a site when they did that.I said that I was considering it though. My idea was to introduce a new section on the homepage, next to the news, where we have this kind of thing. Of course, the homepage is kind of cramped as it is, so I'd have to remove the left-hand column, move news to the left, and expand the right-hand column and fit this community/creative thing on top of that. I know there's a Kingdom Hearts mobile app, but you should try to make a mobile app for KH13; Kind of like facebook or twitter on your phone you can have KH13 on your phone. That would be cool.

Yeah, I agree that TWEWY might not please a good portion of fans coming to read KH news, which in turn might not be the greatest idea.  I really liked your suggestion about featuring image, video and writing competitions on the main site though, since it'll display KH13 more as an active community.  Another thought I had--though this might create a bit more work--is if you chose a "fan-made image of the day" or video of the day, et cetera.  I don't know if that would be something to consider, but just a thought.  Honestly, I really love the site the way it is.

Maybe a new alert for stuff. Like posts for certain friends, or topics...... If you mean for the just site without changing stuff, you could make like a fun fact for once every week about glitches, facts, or something........don't have any real ideas.

Maybe some competitions?

What about taking advantage of Christmas and make something related to it? (avatar, story, etc..)

Maybe an update on the layout then.  Not a complete overhaul like from the Aqua layout (I really like the colors and organization), but just freshen things up which would give you the chance to spruce up what needs moves and such. You know, I didn't become active until I participated in one of those contests you once held and I saw that on the front page.  Look what happened from there.  It's a good way to bring people in.  But I agree, the news sections should stick with news.  I guess the challenge would be grabbing attention to other side sections.

I dont mind twewy updates, but then again, you have to create a separate URL so KH13.com stays 100% KH.

You did FF13.com sort of thing, maybe you could test people on the KH13 website to see if they are worthy and willing to update news and moderate the forums.

 

as for improving this website, maybe you could create a new section. I cant think of an idea of what this new section would be, but I let you know if I come up with something.

 

Oh yeah, we need a mobile app. the mobile website just doesnt have a KH13.com feel. You can't actually see what new forum topics were created.

How about some new ranks for the amount of likes you receive? Things that relate more to the series like "Keyblade Master" or "Heartless" instead of whore. Why whore lol? And instead of saying member under everyone's names (besides moderators, admins, etc.) you could implement the title under there, that way everyone could keep their own custom titles (example mine being "Smoke Nort Everyday!"). Also, can you make it so I can upload pictures and videos easier? I still can't find a way to upload pictures from my documents without converting it on photobucket first, and even if the feature is already available, can you make it more noticeable? And maybe you could change the background color up once in a while, like red and white for Christmas, Orange for Halloween, etc. 

Maybe you can introduce some weekly forum events or something.  They don't have to be big and I don't know what they could be, but it could give the forum goers something else to look forward to, especially during dry spells of KH news.  There may or may not be rewards involved (if such a thing is implemented, maybe it could work on some kind of point system), but it should be fun and perhaps takes advantage of the community.  It could be something related or not to hatok's Kompetition a while back, but maybe instead, something creative where everyone can join in.

how bout add some favorite KH character of the day? it will makes to see which character is the best and also put the character's quotes

Anyway.

 

Not sure if you're able to do this, but how about once the music section is finished we have a shuffle feature that's playable anywhere on the website. Basically people can play KH music anywhere on the website. It could play in the background or you could have a small audio bar for it.

 

I'm guessing though since we're using YouTube to host the music the chance of this is even lower.

 

Finish the walkthrough/playthrough archives. Still got quite a few to do.

 

Fix the video archive problems.

 

Decide what you're going to about /characters/, /worlds/, /releases/, /kingdom-hearts-mobile/ &  /trading-card-game/. /worlds/ currently has side-scrolling.........

 

/website/ needs to be updated.

 

/music/#soundtracks/ needs to be finished as well.

Okay sorry for the other series idea. As you said, competitions would just fit right that way, not in the place of news. So, in the news, what about putting promotions of KH stuff that appear around the web. I mean, like promotions from Square itself, or, like I saw on my facebook, giveaway of a KH3D prize pack from Brady Games, including the game, the guide and some other thing. Also, you could, if you still didn't, put the news from here on KH13's Facebook page. So, we can share and attract more KH fans. Maybe things like that could help. I don't have any more ideas for now. Sorry I couldn't help.
