I.... I don't understand, how's that gonna get him a job?

I read that somewhere before.

As someone getting killed repeatedly in an MMORPG by 2 people, I kind of see how annoying this will be xD

But that dads plan omg

Oh wow.....the creative thinking of parents nowadays

I.... I don't understand, how's that gonna get him a job?

If he keeps getting killed in the game he won't see a point in playing so can't waste time on it instead of finding a job, I assume xD

There are some MMOs where this actually happens quite often. In EVE Online some players are on the run constantly because angry people often place bounties of around 3 Trillion ISK (equal to about 5000 USD) on the heads of people they want dead.

It happens quite often in World of Warcraft too so I've heard (I personally don't play). WoW is heavily dependent on the items a character owns and if somebody finds an exceptionally rare item and people find out, it becomes an unsafe world for said player.

xD Nice plan by him

I think that would be kind of fun (in a way). It's like a special mission; get away and/or kill your pursuers.

Logically, if he's hiring people to kill him in an online game so he gets a job, he could have yano, changed the wifi password and not gave it to him, saving himself money and stopping him playing.

Maybe the son doesn't live with his dad.

Anyway, I'm guessing the assassins were insanely leveled and could probably one hit kill the son, making any encounter extremely frustrating.

It's a brilliant plan.

Beat me to it.

Oh great. They're learning.

That guy is awesome. Hiring virtual assassins? One does not simply do that.

That's amazing, lol. If this were to happen to me (me being a slacker who plays MMOs all day and my parent hired a virtual assassin) I think I'd be too amazed to be mad, lol.

And I thought I saw everything the world had to offer. lol

ima do this to mine son not to get a job but to trololol of course

The full story is he lives with his dad in China. The son is unemployed and loves to play video games. His dad believes his addiction is why he is unemployed. So he hired virtual assassins to kill him online. Eventually, the son began to ask the "murderers" why they kept targeting him. He then found the truth and replied to this dad: "I can play or I can not play, it doesn't bother me. I'm not looking for any job, I'm want to take some time to find one that suits me."

I guess it was kind of smart but interesting too. I just hope my parents don't do the same to me haha. I'm just curious what other tricks parents are going to use.

That's weird. I guess it's chinese parenting methods.

Parenting at it's best

To be honest, I don't think this is bad parenting. I read an article about this--the dad did it because his son spent more hours playing games than looking for a job or working at all. He may not have gone about this in the best way, but I honestly think this guy is a good dad. What he did was stupid, but he just wants his son to succeed. He cares.

the kid will probably find another online game to play anyway

The "kid" is probably like a male in his mid 20s
