143436611Xxcc 1,105 Posted February 25, 2013 So as many of you know KHHD will be released localized this year in the fall. Now many of you are mad and some of us can see the reasoning, here are some top reasons why it will take into the fall. 1.) Re-Dubbing for KH1. Let`s face it Sora`s young voice will not match with the new model. And the fact that Sora is 14 in KH1 only proves that he shouldn't sound like a 10 year old, I think it`s a good decision to re-dub his voice. Also Nomura wants to make everything post KH2, so why not the voices? Ansem, Sora, Kairi, Jiminy, Mickey and whoever had their VA changed will likely be re-dubbed. I think it`s a welcome change minus Mickey 2.) Localization In More Than One Area. This HD collection will be dubbed in English, Spanish, French, German and Italian, which means that it will take some time to get ALL languages re-dubbed, dubbed, and in some cases re-casted even. and to get all the translation in there will take some time for 2 games and a whole 3 hour movie. These are just some I came up with, why do you think it`s taking so long? 1 Ben G reacted to this
Weiss 8,279 Posted February 25, 2013 the first one was my main assumption as that could take a while to do. But yeah, both probably
Junko 2,815 Posted February 25, 2013 yeah i was thinking the same reasons as well

Sora96 17,256 Posted February 25, 2013 They have not said anything about re-recording any dialogue. We don't even know if they recorded dialogue for Riku, Sora and Goofy in the cutscenes added in Final Mix. It doesn't take that long to record dialogue however especially since they started last month.

advfox 698 Posted February 25, 2013 Yeah I can understand the time it will take to release it everywhere else. I know a few people might be disappointed with #1, but that must be done.

It doesn't take that long to record dialogue however especially since they started last month. This is what I thought. If it takes them six-seven months to record dialog then somethings up. If I may indulge my nostalgia-based opinions for a moment...look, I know that Sora's voice has changed. But to redo the entire voiceover seems like an unnecessary waste of time. I'd rather have his voice be how I remember it, not updated for "coherency's" sake. And the idea that they'd replace Billy Zane's superior performance with a new voice track is repugnant, I'm sorry. I'm not unopposed to changes, but the voice acting in that game is what brought the characters to life for me when I first played through. Anything other than the original dialog will hinder the experience. It's Nomura's series, he can do as he wants. I'll buy the thing regardless. However, the idea of changing the voices strikes too close a chord to what George Lucas would do for my liking. 2 Shazzam and Oishii reacted to this

I agree with Zanyes performence but I like older hailey better, HE ACTUALLY SOUNDS FORTEEN IN KH RE:COM AND KH2. or who knows they may keep the voice or they could even go as far as to re-cast. KingdomHearts3 2,591 Posted February 25, 2013 It does make a lot of sense those reasons. I don't know why it's going to take so long, but it is what it is.

Yes, really. I like his new voice fine, I simply don't think it needs to touch KH1. That's just my opinion, which, in Square's grand schema, doesn't really matter. Re-cast? That sounds like a far greater stretch. Better a new voice over with the actor who's been voicing the character for ten years (wow, really that long. huh.) than a new actor. I agree, in my opinion I think the younger voice won`t match the new model.... well find out what they did with his voice when the gameplay trailer comes out. ^_^ but i understand what you mean about nostalia reasons 1 Columned-Munny reacted to this
Javelin434 3,164 Posted February 25, 2013 As long as Hayden Panettiere still voices Kairi, then I'm cool with it.If not, SOMEONE'S GONNA DIE!!! 2 Shazzam and Ben G reacted to this
mgmkidKH 26 Posted February 25, 2013 Well, I think you may be right, but I also think you made two mistakes: the first one, it doesn't make sense (and it isn't even confirmed) to redub the English voices of KH1 (SE is very mean, and I can't imagine them paying for a re-dub); the second, the only games which are going to be dubbed entirely new are KH Final Mix (French and German, not Italian and Spanish how you said) and 358/2 Days (just English). And dubbing a game doesn't take that long... maybe the process to put all the voices in-game, but not the dubbing. I think it could be more possible that it is taking so long because they have to add 4 languages to Re: CoM and translate the Final Mix extras.

I didn't consider this, if that's the case I wonder if other countries will be able to handle unvoiced cutscenes.

KH already was dubbed in those languages, there isn't gonna be any re-dubbing.The reason why it takes so long could be entirely separate from any localization efforts. Distribution, marketing and so on. 2 Oishii and DChiuch reacted to this

mgmkidKH 26 Posted February 26, 2013 No KH1 was in the other languages too. Really... I felt happier thinking it was only dubbed to English and Japanese... Now I know Square Enix has discriminated against Spain and Italy from the very begining of the series D:

Reyn 1,755 Posted February 27, 2013 I'm a little dissapointed that SE is waiting until Fall to release it. I was looking forward to getting it in August, where i have time to play it, plus i could've gotten it for my birthday. And now i'm gonna have to choose between buying KH or FFXIII-3. And to top it all of, THEY'RE REDUBBING SORA!!!! I loved his KH 1 voice, they should just leave it the way it was. The other VA don't sound as different now then they did in the original KH so i could deal with that, but Sora had the voice that fit him for the first game, so im really dissapointed. Why SE, why are you doing this to me???? But at least we're getting the game. If worse comes to worse, i'll just get it for Christmas. But i don't want to have to wait 9 more months to play it, ive waited way to long for getting to play KH1.
