‘Final Fantasy Versus XIII’ rumored battle system changes revealed (Rumor)

Posted
More rumored details have been revealed for the upcoming Playstation 3 exclusive title, “Final Fantasy Versus XIII.” According to a report by the NeoGAF forum on March 6, a self-proclaimed insider disclosed that Square Enix has removed the action element from the video game’s combat system. As a result, role-playing game will feel more like a traditional “Final Fantasy” release with elements combined from “Final Fantasy XII” on the Playstation 2 and the classic Active Time Battle mechanism. You can check out some screens from the upcoming title in the slideshow at the top of this article.

Despite being announced in 2006 along with “Final Fantasy XIII” and “Final Fantasy Agito XIII” (which was later renamed to “Final Fantasy Type-0”), “Final Fantasy Versus XIII” is still in development at the Square Enix 1st Production Department. The same individual that posted the details on the battle system changes also mentioned that the role-playing game will be released in late 2013 or early 2014. You can pre-order the title in the following link: “Final Fantasy Versus XIII”

bullsh*t!

Rumors everywhere. I still want facts.

I don't believe this.

We have been waiting 7 years for Versus and I don't want the Battle System to be changed.

Rumors but still I say that's BULLCRAP !

Well, if they change it to that, I won't buy it anymore. I hated the battle system of FF13. It was boring.

If it has some of the battle elements from Final Fantasy XII then I want.

annnnndddddddd ... not from Nomura-san or Hashimoto-san mouth.

So people explode this guys rumor and what does he do? He goes with it and keeps feeding the rumor bandwagon. I won't believe anything unless it comes officially from SE.

To tell you the truth, I don't believe any of these at all, I only post them to see what people say about them.

To do such a drastic gameplay change would be pretty weird, yeah definitely no more than a rumor.

I agree.

I hope it's real so we can get kh3

Maybe they realized they were digging themselves a deeper hole by keeping the current battle system, and altering it would push the game out faster?

Redundant title is redundant. Anyway, after being in 'development' for such a long time this wouldn't surprise me.

There will be fecal matter on square enix's doorstep if this is true, It better stay a rumor and nothing more

HELL NOOOOO!!!!!!!!! :x

I don't believe for one second, that Square would change up the system just like that. I mean come on, WE WANT A FINAL FANTASY GAME TO HAVE A BATTLE SYSTEM LIKE Kingdom Hearts. If they really removed the action system, then what is the whole point of having real time cutscenes, if it doesn't even have a real time battle system like Kingdom Hearts, and Action Time Battle does not count, i want a KH Action Time Battle System.

This has to be a lie, and if it turns out to be true, im gonna reconsider even buying Vs XIII. Despite the fact i have every XIII series game up to date save for Type 0 since 1. Im not getting a PSP and 2. Im not importing.
