What Is Your Favorite Video Game Genre?

Posted

Okay, so as the title implies, this topic is to discuss your favorite video game genres.  Personally, my favorite genre of games are role playing games, because one can be able to experience emotional and compelling stories with intriguing characters and lots of content to chew on.  RPG's have become a significant part of my life as a gamer, and I can't imagine a gaming world without RPG's.  They are essential!  To Kingdom Hearts, to Final Fantasy, to Pokemon, and to Zelda, I have a huge amount of respect for these colossal RPG giants.  My other runner up for favorite video game genre is Action/Adventure, such as is the case of the Assassin's Creed series.  So then guys, what genre of video games is your favorite? :)

I like Stealth action games the most. I really love to sneak around enemies and catch them by surprise when they least expect it.

RPGs all the way. Especially when I get to make my own character, especially more when I get to customize them. I just love how much I can get involved in the story. That's almost the only reason I'll play a game. Story. I feel like Fire Emblem: Awakening will have me in tears over and over again because I won't be smart enough to save my friends lives. What if I accidentally put my wife or child in a life-threatening situation? If I'm in tears over losing friends to battle then if I lost my love... Sorry, I'm getting way too excited for this game.

RPGs

I like a good story.

RPG.

Action/Adventure

RPG

Hack N Slash

Racing

Shooter

Open-World

Eh, genre isn't really important to me. If a game is good I'll probably like it regardless.

Though I do tend to lean more towards some genres than others. In order...

1. Real Time Strategy

2. MMORPG

3. RPG

4. First Person Shooter

Role-playing games for me, but I do enjoy action and puzzle games as well.  (As well as racing and tennis.)

RPG

FPS

Horror

Platformer

Open-World

But mostly RPGs.

RPG games.

Definitely RPG, but I'll play pretty much anything that's good.

I "enjoy" CoD, but I don't particularly like it.

I LOVE Halo 4.

And I love me a good platformer as well.

I especially like a game if I'm good at it, which is why I enjoy CoD.

RPGs and Fighters, mostly 2D fighters, though.  Puzzles are fun, too.  Also, I like RTS games.

I actually seem to have limited taste in games (and well, just about everything else too). :/

My preferred genre is RPG. Most of the games that I enjoy and play on a regular basis are RPGs. There are, of course, games from other genres I enjoy. However, I only have something resembling consistency in the RPG genre.

Rpg's are what I like most...

Actually I don't have an all time favourite xD

But the ones I really like are Platforming, RPGs, and Racing games.

hmm I'm just playing RPG's and MMORPG's

I love games with a good storyline ^^ and not something like uhm.. cod.. xD

You should make some poll for this

RPG is my fave top but sometimes I do like action RPGs, simulation, shooting, etc
