Since Pokemon Red, Yellow and blue released in the late 90s it wouldn't be uncommon for some to have played other gens first. So did you play a gen 1 game first another gen? (note: Remakes of a game are counted as the gen it's in Ex: Firered is gen 3)

Personally I started with Gen 2 (Gold). I didn't know about Gen 1 at the time.

I started with 1. I'm old. :P

Saw my bro play Gen 1 on an emulator when I was young, and I played Yellow on my friend's Gameboy.  Then I played Gen 3 (never played 2), then 4, and I haven't looked back since.

Yellow was my first Gameboy game.

When I was a kid, there were only 150!

I can remember when Pokemon first came out. One of my first games was Red, and my favorite team still consists of the originals.

Pokemon Yellow, that accursed pikachu wouldn't KNOCK IT OFF

I started with Pokemon Emerald. My 2nd game was Leaf Green.

I still only have Yellow.

well i never legitimately played pokemon red or blue, but when i was young i would screw around with my older bro's save file lol cuz i didnt know what to do. So i'm not sure if that counts, but i did start legitimately playing in Gen 4

I started with Gen 3, but my first game was a remake of Gen 1.

Gen 2 played gen 1 never wanted to play it again.

Whatever gen Diamond was in lol. I started late mostly because of my parents never getting me a Gameboy.

Gen 2(I think. Is that the Gen with the Gameboy Advance games? Or is that Gen 3? I forget.) Fire Red and Emerald sealed the deal for me. Ill look into X and Y when it comes out.

Gen 1 since I was introduced to Pokemon through the anime and Super Smash Bros

I started out with gen 1/Yellow version and proud to not be a blinded nostalgia type of person.

I started with Yellow but never finished it.

I never want to play red, blue or yellow after well I can't say it.

Oh yeah, Pokemon Blue!

I started with a Gen 3 game that happened to be a remake of a Gen 1 game (Fire Red). My second game was Sapphire.

So yeah, I started with Gen 3.

Games? Gen II (Silver version was my first, and my favorite to this day). However, I started watching the anime in Gen I (I stopped at Gen IV though... The games are still good, I've given up on the anime, though).
