So going by that.

Current Main games:

Kh1- obvious reasons

KH Com- introduces Namine, CO, the org, the reason Sora was asleep during a year, what happened to Riku and more

KH2- obvious reasons

KH BBS- Introduces the antagonist of the series and three important characters (who may or may not be part of the seven lights) who need to be saved and more.

KH Days- Introduces Xion and gives a lot of backstory on Roxas. Also reveals more info about the organization and how Roxas came to be as he was in kh2.

KH Coded- reveals that when a heartless and a nobody are defeated the somebody returns. In short, it explains Xehanort's return in KH3D. It also is revealed by Data Namine that Sora needs to save Aqua, Terra, Ventus, Axel, Roxas, Xion and Namine. 

KH3D- I shouldn't have to explain this one.

 

Current side games:

Kingdom Hearts V-cast- This one has been confirmed to be non-canon to the rest of the series and introduces no new plot elements.

Kingdom Hearts mobile- This one didn't even have a story to my knowledge. It was just an avatar game with some minigames and costumes.

Tell that to the guys on Facebook I keep hearing complaints on about how they think all the handheld games are pointless, though I doubt they'd listen.

Haha it's funny one time I stumbled upon a person who complained KH has too many "side games" then he cited BBS as an example, right the game that sets up virtually everything that happens in the original KH is totally a side game!~ 

 

*Nods head* Sometimes no matter how much you tell people those games aren't side games they won't listen. >_>

There  is a facebook gummiship game too, U must kill all same colored blox ----see brutal. --this is the story, the game gives a Smilyng Sora

So called KH fans: You are wrong. They are side games.

I always thought of Days as a side story, since the definition of side story I knew was along the lines of "a play/scene/film/episode/game centered around a secondary character who isn't the main character in the original production" or something like that, either way a lot of "fans"seem to think if it's on a handheld, it's a side game, and that's the problem since they refuse to play them/watch them/read about them and just keep asking for a "main game" basically anything put on a home console. Facebook is the worse for finding these fans. 

Yep and only one that can be considered as a side game in the craziest way is days...

It's not that people are calling them side games that bothers me. It's more that people keep saying how unimportant they are. We'll laugh at them once KH3 comes, though. That'll be the highlight of all this.

Coded was kinda pointless. It just told us what we already knew so far like saving the bbs trio and days trio. I do not even know what was the point of data sora in the first place(something about an incomplete diary). Still I enjoyed recoded a thousand times more than days. That is just my opinion.

Kinda sad than it's going to take 8 games to tell a full story where other games have had more development in terms of storytelling and characters in far less time.

I listed current side games. Since Kingdom Hearts X [Chi] is not out yet I let it be for now.

All kingdom hearts is is a main game

I will continue to call them side games because they are not a main title. Although I do not agree that they are not important to the story.

Pre much if someone who hasnt played KH before asks why there is KH1/2 and the rest are not numbered, you would you would in fact just say, "they are side games". Although they follow/support the main titles, it pretty much just comes down to them not being numbered. Honestly I think a new word should be invented for these sorts of games.
