True, but the fact that character is more or less "born" emo, it makes it seem better if they have an emo-like name. You get what I mean?

Yeah, just pick a regular name, or even something that contradicts you characters "emo" attitude, like Penelope or something.

I'd say go with a regular name and point it towards what sounds right with your character. 

I do hope when you write this story you know what you are writing about. 

 

Anyways.
