Why do people find the storyline throughout all the KH games so confusing?

Posted

I mean, when you play through all of them, its REALLY EASY TO UNDERSTAND, especially compared to the FF games(But i still have an easy time understanding their storylines too, for the most part). Yet everyone is complaining about how the story is too complicated to understand, and it makes no sense. It makes perfect sense to me. I can understand how people can be confused a little with DDD due to Time travel, since its time travel and thats always confusing, but thats really it.

I don't know, but maybe it was more confusing to you guys when the KH games came out of order, while when i got introduced to the series, all the games were already out, so maybe im not a good person to say this.

Because everything is vague as shit and nothing is said out front.Plus it doesn't help that most people don't / can't play all of the games, so a lot of vital gaps are missed.

i think its more like if you play the games and then read the nomura interviews cuz not everything is really to the point in the games most things are but there are some things that nomura needs to explain better in the games

even if he likes to leave things to our speculation people would like to know the facts sometimes

That was only because i didn't know that Ven wasn't the reason Sora can wield. Thats it. That was never really explained, otherwise i understood everything else really.

How about when you thought Roxas's body was destroyed when he joined Sora? xD

Sometimes people have trouble getting their heads wrapped around things without a clear explanation. Others are capable of just reading it once and memorizing it. You can't really blame some people. (Unless they're just being lazy or other reasons.)

Well, it kinda was, since his spirit rejoined Sora, but i made that mistake, since i forgot that Nobodies are made from their Somebodies old bodies, and if it was destroyed that would've meant that Sora's body would've been destroyed too. So yeah, i made those 2 mistakes.

Been way more than that buddy. ;P You make question threads all of the time. xD

I have never found the Storyline confusing too...

It makes me feel kind of special...  ^_^

"When you play through all of them" is the key idea here. Most people can't afford a PS2, GBA, PSP, DS, 3DS and now PS4/Xbox 1. The HD collections should help resolve most peoples confusion if they play them. I never had any issues personally. Its more the fact that more information was added into an established story. Each game opens questions, as well as presents a storyline. The next game answers some of those questions, while adding new questions and maybe presenting information you thought to be true as false (for instance Ansem SOD is not the real Ansem, the big KH2 "plot twist." BBS: you thought you knew who Xehanort was but you're wrong. 3D: Xehanort actually planned everything + time travel. I think the most confusing part is the time travel. I really hope they explain that in more detail in KH3.

For me I understand it but its really challenging to explain cuz it takes some time to fully analyze the story and at points people  can get lost. Plus it has vague parts we still need to learn more about. //goes back under the rock I as hiding in

Simple,It's because people didn't play the first series....

What about when you told me that we don't know where Ven's heart is? -.-

BECAUSE NOMURA LOGIC!

But if you sit and analyse the story, it will get more confusing!

The series isn't really that confusing if you:

1. Pay attention to certain things in each game

2. Have played or watched each game, if you have to, in order to get a better understanding of the series, multiple times.

3. Research if there was anything you didn't understand.

Also, IIRC Time Travel has nothing to do with KH3D. They are dreaming. The title of the game is called Dream Drop Distance. They are in a deep sleep.

If you have trouble understanding it might be a good idea to play through each game in order of the timeline. Or you could play it by order of releases which is what many did.

lol this is an easy enough story to understand, i normally catch all the hints xD

For anyone who wants a confusing story watch the anime "Ergo Proxy" and dont forget to watch episode previews LOL

Because when you tell your story in such a way that's spread out in multiple games, over multiple consoles, and each new game gives new information that makes you see previous information in a different light, you can imagine things get a little confusing.  There's also how some key points aren't stated in-game (Roxas's ability to dual-wield being a common question), and not everyone reads Nomura's interviews.  I probably wouldn't have been able to understand KH without outside help, but if you need outside help for things to add up, whether from interviews or other people, I don't think you're telling your story right.

If people think the story of Kingdom Hearts is confusing, they should play the Metal Gear Solid series.

Because the whole story is a mindfiretruck... I mean you're running around with a giant key, Donald and Goofy and fighting adorable creatures in Disney worlds. That alone is barely comprehensible.

The dual-wield, nobodies, and heart story elements are what confuses people so much. It basically got confusing after KH2.

Good point. xD

What are you talking about? His heart is in Sora, we all know that. Ive known that from the start.

*reads thread question*

Isnt it obvious?

It's pretty easy to understand, but a lot of things are left out of the games. I prefer to have facts rather than using my imagination to put unexplained pieces together. I'm sure not everybody understands everything, but luckily we have this website to help each other. :D
