For my fellow Christians on this site, post a Bible verse!

Featured Replies

Well this is not a bible quote but it's a christian poem referring to those who have a hard time giving their problems to God and letting Him handle it without their own interference. :

Like children bring their broken toys with tears for us to mend, I brought my broken dreams to God because he was my friend

Instead of leaving Him in peace to work alone, I tried to help with ways that were my own .

Alas I cried, How can you be so slow ?

He said, because dear child, you never did let go.

Oh, that's a good idea! I'll edit the original post so that we post poems/songs and stuff like that too. That's a cool poem!

Well, I'm areligious (Not atheist because I don't entirely dismiss the possibility) and I haven't read the Bible, although I've heard some quotes. My favorite is "Judge not lest ye be judged." one that the more... outspoken groups... seem to forget.

1 Corinthians 14:33- For God is not of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

HE knows your pain. HE sees you and HE loves you. HE knows your name.. HE knows your name.

So true, my friend. I can admit that a lot of people on our side (myself included sometimes), have been guilty of judging like that.

Gen. 2:22

And the rib, which the Lord God had taken from man, made he a woman, and brought her unto the man.

My favorite books are

Genesis

Psalms

Acts

Proverbs

Ecclesiastes

Revelation

Revelation 21:6 :

"I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto himthat is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely."

Matthew 5:23-24

"So if you are offering your gift at the alter and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the alter and go.  First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift."

''Salvation lies within''

Even though im not christian, this is my favorite verse from the bible at the moment

I'm not religious and this isn't a bible verse but technically it's from a movie based on a biblical story and damn it's catchy.

Blessed are the nice. That was one, right?

"Amaos los unos a los otros como Yo os he amado"

(I'm Spanish, lol)

Forgot the exact location, but it is in Luke.

"...and if you have no sword, then go, sell your cloak and buy one."

This is the chorus from the song On Eagle's Wings. BTW, i'm Catholic, too.

And He will raise you up on eagle's wings,

Bear you on the breath of dawn,

Make you to shine like the sun,

And hold you in the palm of His Hand.

Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. 1 John 4:20

oh, and this isn't a bible verse, but it's "holy"

“There is a reason God limits man's days."

"Why?"

"To make each one precious."

Hebrews 13:5

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.

Isaiah 5:20

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

For God so loved the world he gave his only son, so that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16

This topic awesome! Thanks so much for making this Jim :)

"Dear friends, let us love one another, for love comes from God.  Everyone who loves has been born of God and knows God.  Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love."

1 John 4:7-11

Here are some quotes from Mother Teresa that I really love too:

“Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God's kindness: kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile.”

“We must know that we have been created for greater things, not just to be a number in the world, not just to go for diplomas and degrees, this work and that work. We have been created in order to love and to be loved.”

I'm not a Christian, but this is a quote from 33Miles, they're a great Christian band.

"There's a beauty to the dawn, a rhythm to the rain
A silence in the soul that I just can't explain
There's a breath of life I breathe, a beating in my heart
A magnificence, a scary sense of what lies past the stars
Beyond what we can see behind the mystery
I know that it could only be."
