Kingdom Hearts 3 maybe longer then we imagine..

Posted

Okay, if ya'll remember remember when they reveal Final Fantasy versus in the early days of ps3, It hasn't showed up until next generation of consoles. Now im not saying that Kingdom Hearts 3 will have the same fate. But what if Kingdom hearts 3 will take 4 years or 6? Considering they haven't made any real progress.

They might take a while with this game, which I'm fine with, we've been waiting for versus(15) and we have been waiting for an actual announcement for kingdom hearts 3. I'd wait as long as 10 years for this game to be perfect if it had to but I don't want it to be a lost project.

Lol for 2015 kingdom hearts dream drop distance for ps3.  2016 Kh 1.5 for ps4 and xbox one.  2017 kh 2.5 for ps4/xbox1. 2018 Kingdom Hearts 3

I read the same thing, along with many others. It'll be in the early interviews about KH3 in this site's interview section.

So it's not up yet?

You don't think it will come for PS4 with the new cartoon forms? It will need to be done for a remake.

I was thinking that FFXV will come end 2014 but if they will be at the same time..

KH3 might be released end 2015 in japan and spring 2016 eu/us.

I'm sure that XV will be so great that FF fans will be content enough to wait until after KH III for their next installment in the series (and it will be sweet, SWEET payback making them wait!).

LOL...go easy on them...KH has had good games coming out in the last 4-5 years...FF13 on the other hand was total crap

And who knows if XV will be even good...from what I saw I just was shocked...it looked nothing like Final Fantasy(and I'm not even a big FF Player)...it looked realistic and crap...looked pretty stupid...especially the character designs...they look like a Korean Boy-Band.Love Nomura's Artwork for KH but his FF Artwork has always been rather odd lol(assuming he designed the XV Characters Artwork)

So it's not up yet?

No I meant if you looked in the early interviews of KH3, you'd find it.

Whoa, maybe you should be the one going easy. I loved XIII, as difficult and tedious of a game it was. And what is it with everyone freaking out over something looking realistic? Wasn't that supposed to be a GOOD thing? When did it suddenly become a crime for the characters and settings in a game to look way too similar to reality (if you dare to mention Sonic 2006 as a counter example, try to be more creative than that)? I thought that was the point of Final Fantasy, along with making everything look both mystical and futuristic. At this point, I think some series once they've developed enough are allowed to take new turns to discover how they can stay fresh and exciting, no matter what the fans say they think they want. People say that if they were in charge they would keep things the same, but without anything new to spice things up, games will get stale. Doesn't mean they can't find a formula that actually works and keep it as a core element, but some variety does wonders. Metal Gear Rising seems to be a rather different take from the rest of the Metal Gear series, and my friend just won't shut up about how awesome it is. Sometimes the whole burden of being a fan is more self-inflicted than most fans would like to admit.

Wait, so instead of actual new relevant news, everyone is just analyzing old stuff that was said almost a year or two ago? That's still major speculation in my book. Maybe if you could send me a link that shows what you're talking about?

It's Final Fantasy...it's not supposed to be uber-realistic...that's why since FF7 the series started going downhill.RPG's were inspired by Dungeons and Dragons FFS...they've really forgotten their roots and gone totally astray

How the firetruck did FF13 innovate in any way? It was linear as hell and almost single-handedly destroyed JRPG's Reputation

FF15 on the other hand looks kinda weird...they're going towards the action RPG gameplay...with flashy stuff...kind of reminds me a bit of The Last Story from what i've seen

I mean if you ask me to pick between Xenoblade Chronicles and Final Fantasy 13...I'm going to pick Xenoblade each and every time

Sonic '06 wasn't the first game to go realistic...Sonic Adventure 2 did before that(and it sucked)

Sonic '06 had alot of more problems than that...like the game being glitchy as firetruck, being slow, gameplay being horrible, graphics poorly done, underwhelming soundtrack(which is rare in this franchise),terrible fanfiction story which made one be ashamed of being a fan of the franchise and on top of that it promoted bestiality

Sonic '06 is a whole different beast altogether

NOOOOO! I was expecting it in late 2015...I thought they were almost done with FF15 and they would release it in 2014.

Okay, One: Who said that it's not supposed to be "uber-realistic"? Does that look like a city you know? If so tell me where it is, because I would LOVE to go there! To say what a franchise can and can't do isn't up to the fans, it's up to the creators.

Two: FFVII!? That's when everyone else who wasn't into the series in the first place actually got into it! And so many of the recognizable characters that everybody idolizes come from those games you say ruined the franchise. I take it that must mean you are a 2D-purist? I doubt you are, but that's the impression that your statement gives me.

Three: "They've forgotten their roots and gone totally astray"? How in any way have they "forgotten their roots"!? An RPG is an RPG. It can have other sub-genres attached to it, because it "firetrucking" can. The RPG style you are probably longing for is a fun style that was more prominent in the 80's and 90's. While that system is fun, time has progressed, and to some it has become dated, while to others it still remains timeless. The advances that you claim to distance the games from their former glory are meant to draw in new crowds into the franchise. And they keep as many past elements as is reasonably possible so that they won't lose their long time fans either.

Four: Again, I freaking LOVE XIII. Sure, it was linear, but after so many games of dizzying open worlds, it was nice to have a change in pace for once. I loved the open world style of gameplay, but I loved the adventure in the way that it was handed to me. As for JRPGs, I'm pretty sure everyone still loves the genre just as much as they always have, no matter what their opinion of FFXIII is. A single game doesn't destroy an entire genre. Sonic 06 didn't destroy action platformers, and FFXIII certainly didn't destroy JRPGs either.

Five: I will admit, XV is looking rather strange so far, but it's rather appealing toward me. I've always been a fan of the action-RPG genre and this thing has been Kingdom Hearts' sibling for some time now, so I'm dying to see what inspirations came from where. Some of it may seem flashy, but I like flashy. I still love a sense of effort, but flashy is fine with me.

Six: Okay, I thought I made it clear that I didn't want to hear a Sonic 06 example unless it was something that hasn't already been said by everyone else over a million times. Yes, the game was glitchy. Yes, the gameplay was miserable. Yes, the graphics were pretty sub-par compared to some other early PS3 titles. YES, the story is the strangest and most pointless story in the entire series! HOWEVER: That soundtrack is one of my most favorite out of the entire franchise, so to say it's underwhelming is to say that you were so tired of the game that you plugged your ears the rest of the way, not wanting to hear what it sounds like. Crisis City has the most EPIC music in that entire game, to say that something that intense, that loud, that adrenaline filled is underwhelming is really, really...questionable. I guess you must have higher expectations when it comes to video game music, and I can respect that. But I still don't believe that "underwhelming" is a word that can ever go with this game's soundtrack. To many people, it was the only plus to this game. Also, Sonic Adventure was the first game to try and introduce realistic settings and characters into the Sonic franchise, and while Sonic Adventure 2 did that as well, both games are considered to be the best of the 3D franchise. And I loved both of them.

Finally, Seven: Yes, the Sonic/Elise moments where god-awful! At first it just bugged me as a Sonic/Amy fan, but now a days it just disgusts me as a Sonic fan too. To be fair though, bestiality was promoted by thousands of other things before this game. Need I mention Who Framed Rodger Rabbit?

In the end, I guess we just have different standards for what games should or shouldn't do. But ultimately it doesn't matter. We don't control what they put in the games. Only our reactions and money will affect what they do in the future, and even then they still get to decide what they do for the next game. Both the Final Fantasy and Sonic franchises are trying new things while holding on to what made them so popular in the first place, and I'm going to support these franchises as long as I can. If you don't feel the same way, there's always Kingdom Hearts and those other games you've mentioned.

I'm not about to reply to that huge ass post man but...It's in the freaking title "Final Fantasy"...it's supposed to be a Fantasy...not photo-realistic crap. And it shouldn't be set in a modern urban setting either

I never saw Jessica actually kissing Roger

Sonamy ain't happening...ever

Sonic has been trying old stuff lately and playing heavily into Nostalgia...just look at Lost World...it looks like Sonic X-Treme...they even brought back the Spindash and got rid of most of the awful characters as of recent years(Silver,Amy,Shadow,Rouge,Blaze,Big and the other countless recolors)...tho they added some awful ones with Lost World(The Z Villians...they look stupid)

In other words they've been going the right direction for some parts...especially considering the damage Adventure 2,Shadow the Hedgehog,Storybook Games,'06 and Unleashed did to the franchise...though they're still not amazing in the gameplay department and they will most likely never reach the brilliance of the classic games...but oh well...something is better than nothing...atleast the new games are far better than those crappy games they released in the consoles from 2001 to 2009

Oh and the '06 soundtrack sucked for that shitty Akon Remix of Sweet Sweet Sweet(Sonic 2 Ending theme) and that afwul His World Song alone...not to mention the damn soundtrack is not memorable at all...the game that followed it(Unleashed) had a far superior soundtrack

When you compare it to most of the other soundtracks in the franchise it falls even more flat...only soundtracks that might be worse in my mind are the horrible Dying Cat Soundtracks from Sonic 4 episode 1 and 2(and boy did they mess that game up too)

AC games need 2 to 3 years. AC R had even less time to be finished... and was rather short.

Uggh I graduate in 2015 and hoping it will be here by then

I'm so old

Thanks to you I feel really old right now :(

I'd say anytime after late 2015. It's so annoying when people say that the release date is in 2014.

Fantasy isn't a 2-dimensional concept of fairies and floating islands and magic, it can basically be whatever it wants. Who died and made you the king of fantasy games?

Really? You must not have seen the movie, because she did kiss him, and it was pretty obvious.

OOoooohhh no, no, don't you dare bring SonAmy into this! I can deal with the fact that there are people out there that for some reason or another don't like the character (I don't think I'll ever understand you people), but that doesn't mean that they can just go and attack the people who actually DO like her. I will admit she has flaws, but I've seen her get better in recent games, and I'd like to think that if they put a little more effort into some permanent character development (and NOT reverse it after 5 seconds), she and Sonic would be perfectly compatible. But TO EACH THEIR OWN. And with that I'm ending this conversation about SonAmy, because I frankly think it is a waste of time to be discussing a fan pairing for another game on this Kingdom Hearts site. Go troll SonAmy fans somewhere else.

Oh what a surprise, you hate 3D Sonic too. How original. First, before I say anything, let me just say that the original games were awesome. Sonic 3 and Knuckles was the best of the Genesis system before they moved on to other things. Now with that said, I have to say that I would have NEVER gotten into the Genesis games if it wasn't for the 3D games. Most of my fondest memories come from those games, and I pretty much love all of them, whether they be Sonic 2006 or Sonic Colors (though frankly I think people give it a little too much credit). Now I realize that by the time Sonic Adventure 2 came out, everybody started having mixed feelings towards the series, and I can understand that with games like Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic 2006. Oddly enough, those were my first two Sonic games in that order, and I wasn't scared away from the series, in fact, I think it made me more tolerant to SEGA's mistakes. The Storybook chronicles...I think they are better seen as experiments at best. They tried a gameplay style that just didn't work out too well. I love Sonic with a sword, but I really wish they worked around that a bit so that he wouldn't have to stop every five seconds. Now those games, I can understand you hating.

But Unleashed? MY Unleashed? You dare list MY SONIC UNLEASHED with that lot!? What is with you!? In case my outburst hasn't made it clear by this point, Sonic Unleashed is my favorite game out of the entire franchise, even slightly more than Generations. It was the first TRULY SONIC Sonic game that I had ever played, and it felt natural. It reintroduced the concept of 2D platforming that you seem so fond of (again, NOT Colors), even if it was a little wonky at times. The music IS awesome, thank you for agreeing with me that much! And the story I think is the best out of the titles that came out on the PS3. To hate 2006 is a feeling that I can understand and that anyone can relate to. But to say that Sonic Unleashed deserves the same amount of scorn is not only hateful and lazy, but really really oversighted.

And the characters, I think the only thing you and I could ever have in common is that we don't like Big. I don't hate the guy, but I'm glad they aren't using him anymore. Silver and Blaze remain some of my most favorite Sonic characters, and I dare you to say that to all of those Shadow/Rouge fans out there. And by "pointless recolors", I'm assuming you mean the multiplayer mode in Sonic Colors and Lost World, because really, it couldn't possibly mean anything else. I admit it's gotten really crowded in the franchise as of late, but I think they've made a point in saying that they aren't adding any more characters to the main cast. They never said they were getting rid of anyone (except for Big and Marine), and I don't think they will either. Especially not any Genesis era characters (don't start the Mighty and Ray argument).

By the way, joke's on you. Amy IS going to be in Lost World. And the whole Sonic X-treme vibe I'm getting from this game is one of the winning reasons that I'm buying it. And yes, I've been well aware of Sonic's nostalgic return to roots (it was a renaissance that started with Unleashed and don't you forget it), but they're doing this WHILE moving forward with their ideas. Though frankly, if Lost World turns out to be the last in line of the "Nostalgic Renaissance", I wouldn't complain, the whole nostalgia thing is starting to feel a bit stale to me. But maybe that feeling will wear off after this game, who knows? Point is, this game is a good example about how all of Sonic's past, both good games and bad, have led him up to this moment and how they will keep supporting him as he continues to grow as a franchise, while his multiheaded fanbase continues to tear itself apart, much like we're doing here, on a Kingdom Hearts forum I might add. The Zettis do seem a bit strange, but whatever, let's see how they actually perform first before jumping to anything.

I'm going to wrap this up, because I too am tired by how easily I seem to be making these walls of text (I've got to find a different way to express my feelings). Point is, I think we can agree that Fantasy is a free spirit. What I believe though is that this allows it to try what it can, because if someone told you to stick to one thing in life because you weren't good at anything else, how do you think you would feel. I'm eager and optimistic to see what franchises like Square and SEGA are planning to do with their money makers, and I support whatever steps they take to get there. Your opinion is your own and I respect that, but just remember that while what you say and believe may be shared by others, it's not universal, just as mine aren't (I think I actually fit within a minority of level-headed Sonic fans, if you could actually believe that from all of my defensive arguments). People are going to argue and there isn't anything that can be done to change that. I respect your views and will allow you to keep them (as if I have that kind of authority, right?), just do the same with me. If you don't mind, I'd like to end it here, because I'm finding it silly how easily we drifted from the main topic. If you're going to say anything on this forum topic, please don't let it be a retaliation to my comments, let's just move on, OK?

I hope that we may both find our profile icons someday! ^^

God! I could write a book with all of these huge comments I make!! Maybe I should just make youtube videos, because I clearly need to find a better way to express myself.

*sigh*

The interview was only a few months ago...I meant the very first KH3 interviews SINCE announcement. Look there.

And plus, even IF they confirmed they were working on KH3 since BBS over a year ago, how the flying hell would that be "major speculation" to talk about what would have been confirmed in the first place? That makes NO sense.

"Oh, HAHA, WE LIED." - _ - smh.

But no, it was said a day or two after announcement...

Well it hasn't been brought up that much, so how was I supposed to know (aside from looking through the archives wise guy)?

I'll be 21 or 22 when KH III comes out: DDD is end of the line, for now.

They've been working on it for three almost four years. Seeing as how that the trailer for E3 was old material as Nomura said means that we could be closer than we realize. I predict 2015 for JP and NA.

Nomura has stated he wants the JP and International releases to be at the same time.

I say late 2015, maybe just in time for Christmas.

I'd be wary of the quality if it were released 2014! I'm thinking 2.5 Remix for 2014 and then late 2015 for KH3. I want this game to be the best quality possible so no rushing Nomura! As much as I am desperate for this game, it cannot be hastily put out on the market because of consumer demands!
