The names consisting of thirteen letters in total is a coincidence

Recommended Posts

Of the parts of the Kingdom Hearts series that revolve around the number thirteen, it has been noted that the total number of letters in the names Sora, Riku and Kairi is thirteen. While this is seemingly meant to add to the use of the number thirteen in the series, I believe that this can easily be passed off as being a coincidence.

Sora, Riku and Kairi are names that consist of thirteen letters in total, and so are Axel, Roxas and Xion. However, the names Terra, Aqua and Ventus add to fifteen letters in total. I believe that if the use of the number thirteen was supposed to apply to the names of the characters, the names Terra, Aqua and Ventus would contain thirteen letters in total as well.

I consider that to be a reasonable assumption.

Fool. If you add all the letters for Kingdom Hearts together, you get 13. And if you take the letters in Sora's name, times it by the number of letters in Lea's name, and add that to (Number of letters in Sora's name divided by number of letters in Saix's name), you get thirteen.

I meant only in the case of the names of the protagonists.

Fool. Xemnas + Xigbar + Xaldin + Vexen + Lexaeus + Zexion + Saix + Axel + Luxord + Demyx + Marluxia + Larxene + Roxas = 75

Divided by 5 = 15

FFXV-2, FFXV-3, FFXV-4, and FFXV-5 confirmed

Fool. It's deep, think about it.

What you said does not apply to me. I was looking for information that went against one part of the theory, that being the part about the names of the protagonists; not the other way around.

Fool. But maybe this is saying something. Maybe it's saying that Terra, Ven, and Aqua aren't protags, but just side characters. Axel, Xion, and Roxas add up to thirteen. That's two to one.

I suppose it wouldn't need to apply, I think 13 is merely a number they chose, when they planned KH2 or CoM and they thought up the organization they didn't plan Xemnas to ***!! SPOILERS !!***really want to make 13 Xehanort's aka 13 darknesses. It all fits in the end but I don't quite think everything was planned out already. the 7 lights and 13 darknesses etc. it's just stuff they're able to add because of what they already had. If it was organization 12 there would've been 8 lights. What I do think is quite funny is the fact that 7 is a holy number in the bible (so as far a number can represent good, it represents the good) and 13 is an unlucky number, friday the 13th etc. so the numbers do fit light and darkness.

A lot of things in gaming are coincidences (or very vague plot points), most developers/designers decide to go with it to make it seem like it was all planned from the start.
