I'm sure that some of you here has actually gave a name to his rival rather than just using the default name like BlueGary,Silver....etc

 

 

I started naming my rival in the Gen 2 games

 

Back when I got Pokemon Gold on the GBC  I named my rival after one of the students that I met in school that was bullying me because I hated that boy so much

 

But in my recent second run of Soul Silver on my DS this year,I gave my rival a different name

 

I named him after a certain 3rd party company that keeps canceling games of a certain blue robot

 

Yep,I named my Rival Capcom....I'm serious...I just felt so much satisfaction when I was crushing him with my Pokemon...I felt like I had my revenge on Capcom....it's just.....satisfying

 

 

So,what name did you guys give to your rival in the Pokemon games??

Default name

When I first played Silver, I named him "???" because I literally thought that was his name. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) 

Besides that tragedy I just name them whatever the default name is.

Gen 1 was always Gary.Gen 2 was always Silver, until 2008. Since then, it's been Obama (no idea why, though)

I legitimately was so stuck on finding a good name for him that my Micro died like 5 times before I finally had a good one.

In the end, I laugh at myself because I ended up naming him Gary after I forgot it was in the preselected options because Fire Red.

1st gen: stalker

2nd gen: that one guy

3rd gen: MCcrabby

In Red/Blue I named him Gary.

In Gold I named him after my brother and my brother did the same for me on the other version.

In Diamond I named him after a friend of mine who had the other version, in Platinum I went with my brother's name again.

In White 2 I named him after my friend again.

 

I dunno, I rarely pick defaults tbh. I don't really pick silly "haha his name is butts" kinda names either.

I haven't played much Pokemon, but when I do get them, letter space permitting, there will be Moriarty.

Mostly Gary. But the occasional "Asshat" was always great.

Gen 2: A**BAG

Gen 3: Useless

Gen 4: Luffy

Gen 5: Sasuke

I've named my rival after my brother several times when the rival was nameable lolol..

For every Gary:  McAss

I named him Silverario in RED, GBC version, and Randal in SILVER, GBC version. 

i'm weird: don't judge. 

I usually go with the default names. I sometimes name rivals after one of my friends, though. Just because I can.

Surprisingly I named my rival in 1st gen my brothers name. 2nd gen I named him my best friend name and then after that I went with default name cause my brother and best friend didn't play the games anymore
