PikaLink91 58 Posted January 19, 2014 (edited) So, Square decided to wait all this time and finally make Kingdom Hearts III a next gen exclusive (PS4 and Xbox One). What do you hope this will accomplish? The new consoles have all sorts of new features, so do you guys 'n gals have any wishes/expectations/ideas for how the game will utilize these new feature? Me personally, I am really looking forward to see if they utilize the PS4 controller's touchpad. And I had an idea that swiping it could be used as a short-cut to quickly change between your Keychains PS. Because it apparently wasn't clear the first time, this is also a thread for YOU to discus YOUR suggestions as to how the technology of the next gens could be taken advantage of. Caity 3,946 Posted January 19, 2014 I agree with lars1080, I don't see themselves giving themselves extra work that'll only work on one of the consoles cause 1. Extra work clearly 2. Xbox fans would complain Same reason I doubt they'd incorporate the Kinnect.

I dont think they gonne dus some extra in each console Well, that is why I, like many other fans (without having anything against the Xbox), hope that they focus on the PS4, and then make a port for the Xbox where the remove the features that doesn't work on it. Cuz many fans fear that the Xbox will drag Kingdom Hearts III down like (they claim) it did with Final Fantasy XIII. So I'd rather they focus all their attention on the strengths of ONE console, so that they don't have to limit themselves, and then worry about the Xbox afterwards. They should be grateful that they even GET the game this time>_<

And why would they want to face a back lash for making a difference just to please those who own a PS4? I'm sure PS4 owners wouldn't find it fair if it came out and there were extra features on the Xbox version. Multiplatforming is meant to be the same game, same features, and stuff just on different hardware. It defeats the purpose of saving money by creating one and downporting to the similar consoles to instead make one, downport and then go in and develop it some more to add features to the different consoles. Essentially both the PS4 and Xbone versions are gonna be downgrades from the original they create on the PC. Additionally FF was brought down because the Xbox 360 didn't have blu-ray so it had less picture quality and multiple discs. The Xbone doesn't have that issue. They are more or less the same console, bar a few gimmicks (which are just gimmicks and not essential) and different controllers. 1 Oli reacted to this

Besides, I didn't only make this thread for you guys to bash my harmless little suggestion, I also wanted to hear your suggestions, but you are too busy harping on me to think of anything apparently! I'm not being pessimistic, I'm being realistic. It's a neat idea if they were just making it on the PS4, but they're not, so it's unfair to Xbox users and people will complain. It'd be setting yourself up to be bitched at and get bad reviews for giving features to one console and not the other. Xbox fans are meant to feel included and that they can play the same great game on a system they want rather than having to buy a system they don't really want for one game. 1 Master Juan reacted to this

She's really not, she's stating a reasonable and sensible opinion. It's better if Kingdom Hearts is on more consoles that way more people can experience it. And why complain now? Kingdom Hearts is currently on 8 different systems (PS2, PS3, PSP, GBA, DS, 3DS, Mobile Phones, and Computer). One version on the Xbox isn't going to hurt anyone and it will only increase profits. After KH3 comes out on PS4 and Xbone, it will be out on 10 different systems, so quit with this Playstation exclusive nonsense. Nick Sideris 1,551 Posted January 19, 2014 Well ,isn't KH III gonna be a next gen. game ? Well , if that's so , KH III will have to get released with the next gen. of consoles .(PS4)
Setrex 1,031 Posted January 19, 2014 I'm sure the only thing the PS4 version will have over the Xbone is the Remote Play function (which I cannot wait to try for both FF15 and KH3). The touchpad has potential to be cool for KH3 but I don't want it to feel too much like a gimmick. Like if they do a reaction command job with it and you "swipe" in whichever direction you might pull off a sequence that in KH2 or Re:CoM would have been triggered with the triangle button. They might not bother with the touchpad in the end because they won't see any use for it. There are many games on the Vita that don't make use of the touchscreen or rear touchpad even though they exist so most likely it might be a function that they just won't use, then again we'll have to wait and see
Nero Kunivas 3,046 Posted January 19, 2014 The problem I have with KH3 being on the Xbox One is that Kingdom Hearts has NEVER been on the Xbox and if players are Xbox Loyalists AKA. people who wanted an Xbox and nothing else because fanboy logic dictates they do so or they just don't like Sony or Nintendo, they will be SERIOUSLY confused because of Kingdom Hearts' complicated and deep storyline. Also, my suggestions...I'm not sure, they seem to have all they need so far with this "Kingdom Shader" for the graphics and the fact that it's on the next-gen consoles is good enough as it is so, yeah. *shrugs*

Though Nomura mentioned interest in the X-Box Smartglass, so anything they make with PS4's touchpad can be easily adapted to the Smartglass. I know the Smartglass is a separate hardware, but they could add configuration options for those features to work with or without it in the X-Box version. Well, we have already seen the potential of the cellshaded graphics, and if you ask me that is pretty darn close to the quality of CGI 1 King.Mickey reacted to this
