FINAL FANTASY XV begun development shortly before its announcement in May 2006, when it was initially unveiled under the title FINAL FANTASY Versus XIII.

 

In January 2011, we got the final trailer for Versus XIII before it began a slow transition into a next gen title. 

 

It was announced as FINAL FANTASY XV at E3 2013 and it look incredible. And since then we've had.....NOTHING.

 

Shinji Hashimoto, the game's producer came out about 11 hours ago and said "Please wait a little longer."

 

And beyond the PlayStation 4 release of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn, we've got no idea what they're doing with the series.

 

There's plenty of 3D remakes and HD remasters they could release and even X-3 but they haven't announced anything.

I highly doubt that any of this will have any impact on FFXV's development, they could just be saving the news for E3 2014 or TGS.

That is true, but keep in mind that FFXV is Square Enix's top prioity right now, and that it's quite far into development, I'm hoping for something at E3 2014.

Yeah, and I'm hoping for a late 2015 release date for FFXV in Japan, and overseas release date for it at early 2016, but even this is like a complex due to it being in development for so long.

Kingdom Hearts Online has a better chance of releasing in 2015 than Kingdom Hearts III.

Y'know what would be cool? If E3 came and they just hit us upside the head with "Hey, guess what? It's coming in two moths from today"

Calm down. They're saving everything KHIII and FFXV related for E3. Not these dinky launch events.

Which is supposed to be the job of the Final Fantasy team. I don't know about anyone else, but I don't want a Final Fantasy game slowing down the finale of the first saga of my favorite game series ever.

Heck we could've got it as earlier as MGS4 and how that game ended Solid Snake's saga without needing a bajillion prequel games to slow it down

 

We got the finale in MGS4 before we got the prequels of Peace Walker and the MGS5 games

He could've pulled a MGS4,show us the epic finale of the saga,then like how the MGS series did,make the prequels later to explain the new characters and plot elements that was introduced in said game
