Say what you want about Toriyama but at least he wasn't the one single handedly responsible for almost tanking the entire company, forcing them to merge with Enix.

In case people forgot Toriyama was one of X's directors as well.

 

Oh, and who else has put out a major game since X? Ito did one in XII and a couple of MMOs but that's it.

I dont have anything to get over. I dont care what Toriyama does, and honestly, I havent really cared about Final Fantasy in general since FFXI

And last time I checked, I think the opinions of over half of the Final Fantasy fanbase mattered more than Kitase's

lol I don't hate the game; in fact, there are some things about it I really like. I just kinda realized that it didn't deliver in a lot of ways, and I like to blame Toriyama. I know that probably not all the stuff is actually his fault- I just enjoy being silly.

I don't care if Kitase approves. I'm not Kitase. At least Kitase can admit that they expected worse feedback from the game. 

 

And you missed the point. My point wasn't that he was the only one to direct a major game since X. My point was that he was responsible for most of the titles that were more mediocre and less well-received.

The thing is, Squall's the main character of VIII. Lightning is XIII's main character, she's had a bigger impact on the series than Caius. Nomura would consider her before he'd consider Caius unfortunately.

I do wish Cauis would have been in the game more...I mean Cauis made FFXIII-2 a good game I mean he destroy's the timeline to save someone he cares about how much more Bad ass can you get.

 

I like the XIII series though kinda, the first FF game I played was XIII-2, then XIII and I thought they were good games even if 13 was linear...Lighning Returns though...I'm kinda on the wall about I think the battle system is great but I can't say I care for the level up system...I like to grind though soooo.
