What do you think of remastered soundtracks?

Posted

As you may know, both FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD Remaster and Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD -ReMIX- have featured remastered soundtracks.

What do you think of this? Do you enjoy the remastered soundtracks, or would you prefer if Square Enix left the soundtracks alone and just enhanced the visual experience?

I enjoyed all of the remastered soundtracks in 1.5, and I thought most were improved in FFX HD, ESPECIALLY Aurons theme. A couple didn't sound as good to me.

Remaster is Thee-master.

Usually as good as the original, and I'm glad they usually keep the option to use the original.

1.5's Remastered music sounded really good, it really improved the soundtracks.

FFXHD can sometimes be good and sometimes not. Luca's theme was meh but Mt Gagazet was beautiful like always.

Im indifferent. While most of the time its really nice (ala Kingdom Hearts 1.5)

but other times, it just sounds...off (ala FINAL FANTASY X/X-2 HD REMASTER)

I really like the remastered soundtracks, because they breathe new life into classic tunes that we grew up hearing.  Such as the case with 1.5!  When I heard all the remastered tracks in Final Mix, I was very impressed, and I think I guessed each one that was remastered, humming along while remembering the original tune!  Square has my approval in terms of remasters!  Not only do they sound great, but they help us feel nostalgic about music we love.  So I say yes to remastered soundtracks! :P

So far I.5 and X-X2 have had a beautiful assortment of remade tracks

I personally am stoked for the possible remakes II.5 may yield- mainly Terra and The 13th Struggle

Amazing.

I don't really care about them .

Liked some of the remastered soundtrack but I really wished they at least should've gave us the option to switch to the original like what the FFIV Complete collection on the PSP did

in FFX I like the original version of the Fleeting Dreams track way more than the remastered one

I love them ^^

Well i just know about the 1.5 ReMix and I LOVE THEM they are so beautiful  :3

Indifferent.  Never really noticed any change.

I hate them and I think Square would be better off leaving them alone.

They are amazing. Yoko Shimomura is the John Williams of video game OSTs and everything she does is masterful.

Quite beautiful, indeed. It brings a sort of updated flow from years ago, mixed with the days of now.

To me, some of the original songs in KHFM were actually good without remixing it.

They're fantastic!
