March 31, 201411 yr Both options are good, because if you have to go somewhere, you can take your handheld system and play the games you love while on the go. And the home console games are amazing as well, because you get to experience wonderful stories from the comfort of your couch/bed/chair/whatever you happen to be sitting upon. To me, there is no one more than the other. Both home consoles and handhelds are a must for me.
March 31, 201411 yr I just prefer to play games in general- certain masterpieces were made to be enjoyed specifically on handhelds while others consoles
March 31, 201411 yr If you choose handheld, you're kidding yourself. It's like saying you prefer watching movies on a 240p tv from 1980's that has static half the time over a modern HDTV with surround sound. Yes handhelds have transport convenience, but let me ask you this: If the same game was on handheld and console, the console version would be far superior, so why would one ever buy the handheld version? For example, I'm pretty sure most pokemon fans would love a full console version of pokemon. The exact same game but without the technical limitations. The console version would be far better. Yes, handhelds are great because you can play them on long car trips and on the train etc, but surely you'd have to prefer playing on console, especially if you were at home.
March 31, 201411 yr Consoles. A large majority of games that interest me are on them (well, one to be a bit specific).

I easily chose handhelds, and no, I'm not kidding myself. And it's not because I play them on the go a lot, because I don't. Sure, portability's a big plus, but there's more to it than that. I live in a house with two little brothers, so it's nice to have my own personal system that they can't use without my permission. I don't have to worry as much about anyone deleting my save files, fighting over who gets to play next and for how long, or having the story spoiled for me because one of my brothers is further in the game and couldn't help but tell me all about what happens next, all of which are things I have to deal with when I'm playing a console game. Also, it's nice to just relax in the comfort of my own bed in the quiet of my own room, and unwind by playing my 3DS. Not only all that, but handheld games are cheaper, and because handhelds have less impressive graphics, the developers spend less time making the game look pretty, and more time on making it innovative and unique, something I believe is usually more important. Now, if you prefer console games to handhelds, I'm perfectly fine with that. Just don't go writing off handheld gamers as merely kidding themselves about how good their preferred method of gaming is compared to console gaming, because with at least some of those gamers, including myself, you'll be dead wrong.
March 31, 201411 yr I choose consoles over anything handhelds because it is a better experience IMO Edited March 31, 201411 yr by Skhyatze

Edit: So does that mean only you use your 3DS and the console is for the family? Because the reasons you listed, such as, spoilers, deleted save files, could just as easily occur with the 3DS. If you had exclusive rights to the console, then your listed problems wouldn't be relevant. Edited March 31, 201411 yr by Sora'sMum

Actually yes, all of the home consoles in my house are considered equally playable by myself and my three brothers.
March 31, 201411 yr handheld nowadays, since I'm studying far away from home ... far away from my PS3 ... (´°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥ω°̥̥̥̥̥̥̥̥`)
March 31, 201411 yr Both since I game only on all three consoles and both handhelds. I can't really choose one over the other. Edited March 31, 201411 yr by MasterRoxas13
March 31, 201411 yr I'd have to say consoles just because I'm home all the time, since I don't have a car or a of and I've been out of school for, oh God 8 yearsJeez I'm old 2 more years and I'll have been stagnating for a decade. I-I think I'll go cry in a corner and have crisis of identity, maybe cry a little. Wonder what I'm doing with my life and where it's going. Edited March 31, 201411 yr by Isamu_Kuno
March 31, 201411 yr Really depends on the games available for the console. My whole childhood was Mario and Kingdom Hearts. So really both. But i can't stand XBOX, Microsoft can just stick to Office and Windows.
March 31, 201411 yr It really depends on my mood and what I want to play. I haven't touched my handhelds in ages though my PS3 is on every day (to be fair though, that's for an episode of Angel in the morning getting dressed and another at night before bed), the most recent games I played were on PC, Xbox, N64 and PS3. Whereas last last Christmas (2012) I would have been on my 3DS just for a few months
March 31, 201411 yr Handhelds all the way!! Now most games get put out on the handhelds from there console brotheren and u ca. Take it anywhere!
March 31, 201411 yr They are both good i can't decide between them but if i had to i would say console because you get better 3D graphics than on handhelds. Even the 3DS. that's why i'd go with handhelds. see i like both.
March 31, 201411 yr Handhelds, no doubt. It's much easier for me to grab my 3DS and my headphones and play a game than it is to go to my room and boot up the PS3 or go to the basement to play the 360. The genre's of games I enjoy all work wonderfully on handhelds (except for fighters, which I'll admit are better played on a console with a fightstick), so there's that as well.
Do you prefer to play games on handhelds or on consoles?
