So in the recent interviews one of the developers stated that the re:coded scenes will have some secret backstory. I have a theory this will show what square had planned for birth by sleep volume 2. It would make sense after all because birth by sleep final mix is in the game. I think it will show the backstory of aqua and her travels and show the king travelling to the realm of darkness.

The story is basically the same, but instead of having Sora and Riku rescuing the worlds from the Realm of Darkness they'll rescue them from the Realm of Sleep.

It would be cool if it was either that or 3D, but I doubt it.

This is a popular misconception, but looking at the scenes one can clearly see that it takes place between BbS and KHI. before Sora saved the majority of the world from the RoD, while Aqua and Mickey were in the Realm of Darkness, Aqua because of what happened in BbS, and Mickey because he was looking for a Keyblade from the RoD. The Castle of Dreams was there because it was one of the first worlds swallowed by the Darkness.
That's why "0.5" popped up. No where has Nomura or Yasue said that BbSv2 became 3D.

BBSV2 looks like its taking place during the 10 years that separate KH2 and the beginning of the disappearance of the worlds since we saw clips of Kairi in Twilight Town, Riku on the Big Ben and Xion and Roxas in Twilight Town and all of these things probably happened in that 10 year gap so it wouldn't make sense to had parts of it in KHre:Coded unless they're flashbacks.

Yasue did say that two hours of Re:Coded is completely new. He ALSO said that some of the new cutscenes help explain the back story of some parts of Kingdom Hearts... so maybe?

Maybe not at BBSv2 (it's just a name after all) but instead as a 5 min Aqua scene.

 

I suspect a 5 min scene for BBS and a 5 min scene for DDD is all they need in order to connect the game as it was stated that it will happen in the bonus scenes.

meh... I still don't think will happen, They will most likely be some plot leading to Kingdom Hearts III, Kingdom Hearts BIRTH BY SLEEP Volume 2 doesn't seem likely. But there are possibilities i assume.
