At the end of Kingdom Hearts DDD Dream Drop Distance, Sora goes out and has some stuff to clear up. Have you ever wondered where he went/What he went to do? 

He went to go cry about failing The Mark Of Mastery. Or he is probably prepating for his next journey. (Kh3)

to slack off as normal... KH LOGIC!!!!!!!!

That is a good question, Maybe that's right where KH3 will pick up.

He just said that he couldn't do something, which is basically to say goodbye to the Dream Eaters

He is probably gonna stay in Traverse Town training with them until KH3, when he will return ready to join his friends against Xehanort

So, if went to see the Dream Eaters, that would mst likely mean, Sora is in the Realm of Sleep then.

He simply went to see his friends which are the Spirits in Traverse Town.

He went to see the Dream Eaters in Traverse Town

He went to go save the world.

Nomura: That scene was added in the final stages of production. It wouldn’t feel right to have worked so hard raising the Dream Eaters without some sort of closure. Also, since Sora has obtained the power to open doors into the worlds of sleep, I purposely wanted to show a scene where he used that power.

I always was thinking that he just went to Destiny Island to chill or training.

But the realm of sleep seems the most likely answer.

I guess because it's from Tetsuya Nomura, he went to see the dream-eaters.

Well , I think he went to say a "thanks" and a "goodbye" to the Dream Eaters . But I am sure that , after that ,he will probably begin training .

The bigger question is what is Sora late to and why is he late? Because at the end *SPOILERS* Donald and Goofy talk about Sora being late to something right before Riku shows up with Kairi. Maybe this could lead up to Kingdom Hearts 3!

Are you saying that Nomura gave Sora powers to open the World of dreams meaning sora will be able to talk to Roxas whenever he wants. It happened in 3DDD. I could See it now. Like with naruto and kurama. Roxas lives in the consciousness of Sora, making sora able to dual wield in KH3. Then after obtaining the Key of Returning Hearts, Sora will save Roxas and Xion into the deepest recesses of his heart. Im geeking out!!

To prepare to retake the Mark of Mastery exam?

Aside from the Dream Eaters, a whole range of possible things could have happened afterwards...

 

I'm thinking one of them may have something to do with Darkness. For example, While Sora may have been genuinely happy for Riku he may have had a small sliver of jealousy laying dormant within his heart and, due to his recent encounter and loss to Darkness, may decide to use this to delve further into the Darkness in order to be more like Riku in terms of his resistance to Darkness but he then experiences more problems with it and then Sora's Darkness becomes a major plot point in KH3!
