What's your general opinion on Re:Coded

Posted

There where times I could really enjoy Re:coded and I have restarted playing it several times, however I have only finished it once. I can really get into the system sectors and everything but then somewhere in the game it just starts dragging them out too long. The story is really weak, but I do really love the way you love abilities.

I wouldn't say the story is weak so much as unnecessary. The story would pay off a lot more if it actually paid off anything. The whole point of the game is to show why Mickey sent that letter to Sora, Riku and Kairi which could easily have been explained as, 'Mickey remembered the events of BBS and decided to let the trio know about those fallen Keyblade warriors, and that he wants them to help save them.' You could explain away the fact that he never mentioned it before as it was never really relevant until now and he never spends too much time with the group when they're all just hanging out.

It's actually the only KH game thus far that made me tear up. I really enjoyed the gameplay mechanics and the game overall, even if it didn't contribute much story wise.

It basically fills in the gap between kh2 and kh3d so yeah I really like the game for doing that.

Just curious, what made you tear up?

The story is poor and not interesting enough except for the ending and the secret ending.Having the same worlds for the fourth time makes the title even weaker. The idea of the bubble dialogue and pictures going and coming is also an old fashion that decreases the title's quality.

Still the command wasn't bad and I liked it, also I liked how they managed to make the places affected by the bugs and how you search for the System Sector location by the voice and the screen's color.I admit that it has it's ideas and cool commands but between other titles, it is really poor with all these negative things about it.It would've been cooler if the game had mix worlds between KH and KHII or by only KHII worlds because at least repeating KHII worlds for the first time would be more interesting than repeating KH I's worlds for the third time.

I liked it. Sure, the story wasn't much, but it was originally a phone game. People's expectations were way too high. Besides, it's a GAME. Gameplay is what's important in a game, at least in my opinion.

I thought it was reasonably enjoyable. But I suppose most people have an issue with it because what happens is mostly pointless. Data Sora and Data Riku aren't real, so it doesn't matter much when they grow and learn. We're not expecting to see them again outside of this game. And everything that happens to them and the journal world is also not real, so there isn't much incentive to invest in the story. As a stand alone game, it probably could have worked better. Because it was attached to a series, it put a lot of people off.I imagine that if the game had been totally unrelated to Kingdom Hearts, with its own characters and settings, then it would have felt more fun and interesting. And the characters would have been easier to sympathize with because they aren't just copies of established characters. But alas, we must settle for the game we got and enjoy it for what it is.

I just watch walkthroughs of the KH games, not owning any of the consoles, and while I found the main story interesting enough, it was very repetitive... until the scene with Data-Namine at the end, when we see Axel, Roxas, Xion, Namine, Terra, Aqua, and Ventus. when the BBS trio showed up I nearly freaked out. While Re: Coded is, overall, VERY important to the series as a whole, I do think it could have been done better.

The game is okay. I played it. It's kinda fun, but it's not all that good. It's not the best KH game. But I guess it's okay.

Unnecessary but very fun.

I agree. That's actually the game that got me interested in the KH franchise

I have a huge dislike for the game, I feel it was pointless and boring.

I haven't actually got a chance to play it yet... *Derp*

Well, re:coded wasn't a bad game, but it wasn't too good either, so I dunno.

  • Wasn't good but wasn't bad
  • Has it's perks
  • Great that we got another KH game
  • Gave Nomura I chance to try out so new gameplay devices which isn't bad
  • Ending and Secret Ending were the only parts that mattered
  • But Data Sora was a good character and showed us yet again the power of Sora the Keyblade Wielder and his ability to bend the laws of nature and physics

I actually really enjoyed the game-play elements. The story... well it was enough to get me through the game once, but I didn't particularly enjoy it (it wasn't even the fact that it was unnecessary, I just didn't find it enjoyable). I especially liked the turn-based combat in Olympus Coliseum. It was a fun change of pace.

In my personal opinion, I loved Re:Coded! (Then again, I love every game in the series. xD)  Not only is it the entry with the most variable gameplay, it's also the game that explains the message that Mickey sent to Sora, Riku and Kairi at the end of Kingdom Hearts 2, and it sets the stage for Dream Drop Distance, so I say that the game is important!  Every single Kingdom Hearts game has its importance in the main storyline, and well, I found Re:Coded to be very enjoyable. ^^

I haven't got the chance to play Re:coded yet, but I would love to sometime in the foreseeable future.

Peace!

personaly i loved the game (although i love every kh game) i perticularly like the game machanics and the roxas fight he's an epic boss.

It's meh, i don't think i could play it again through unless i was going for a playthrough of the games in order of timeline. However with these added cutscenes, i might replay it to the cutscenes

Medicore for me. At least it was better than days and DDD, a lot better.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinion but. Re:Coded is not better than Dream drop Distance, not by a long shot. Days, yes cause it was very dull and repetitive bar the 2 last bosses.

As you said, it my opinion. And I didn't have to pet more than play in order to get abilities and combat commands.

It's not the best game in the series. IMHO, out of the four games I have played, it'd come in number three.

Could be way better, storyline wise AND gameplay wise.
