Fans like myself are outraged.

There are a lot of things that dont even contain explict stuff.

There are a lot of youtubers hating CNN right now, because the Anime and Manga fans are looked down on anyway, why not make it worse for us?

What are your thoughts?

Cause I...I am feeling just like this guy.

Warning: Foul Language.

There was already one thread on this, but yeah, this is still stupid. Not unexpected, and there have certainly been stupider topics on stuff like this, but still really, really stupid.

In some ways they are correct, but I think the way they presented it was wrong. He said there were many "genres", but he failed to specify that they aren't all bad or explicit. Put it this way, manga aimed at a certain age group is no worse than the content in books that's aimed at certain age groups in say the U.S. There are manga that are clean in terms of content and he was flawed when he said they weren't for children because some are. He just made it sound like they are all messed up and perverted. that's why I don't agree with his delivery. Pokémon is a manga would you count that as perverted? no.

The ignorance is real. That or the sheer amount of stupidity is so great, CNN hires anyone who is great at telling bullshit nonstop.

They do realize that Pokemon is anime.....right?

They also don't realize that DBZ was also an anime too... :P

Yeah, just look at that guy Don Lemon who actually brought up the idea of the missing Malaysian airplane going into a black Hole >_<.

I dislike news like this, I learned first hand how much anime and manga fans are looked down upon, having had students make fun of our anime club in High School and calling us perverts...

Honestly, who even watches CNN anymore? This is one of the many reasons why this news channel is failing so badly!

DBZ wouldn't help the case here -_- there was an episode once with a flashback to baby Goku, and his boy parts were showing. So, you know, technically that'd be "child pornography" (even though naturally a born baby would not be wearing any clothes).

I do agree though, the main thing most people who aren't into manga or anime will take away from this is, "It's evil!" As if enough parents didn't already tend to think that -_-

Then again, you have to admit that DBZ is greatest animes for children ever since in the 80's (I think...)...

Why not ignore the ignorance? I mean really. why should we get our panties in bunch over this? It's not like this is going to make anime illegal

Well'p, I better hide my copies of Code Geass: Nightmare of Nunnally for fear of those few nude in Knightmare Frame scenes are considered child porn.

My god.

You can't fix stupid...

First line of the video - "on the streets of Tokyo sex sells"  Sex sells pretty much everywhere.  SMH

But that aside, this is just sad.  and they do make it seem like all manga is like this.

A list of all sites being banned and taken down on August 1st.

Not that it would help the case. But...I am pretty sure the 1978 Superman movie had a toddler Kal El (Clark Kent/Superman) completely naked with his junk showing for a little bit. (and this was with REAL people)

If they could simply say "a certain percent of" or "the categories of hentai, yaoi, and yuri are". But just generalizing ALL of it as porn is infuriating. I get their point, yes some of it is,but not ALL OF IT. I mean just-

Considering the graphic violence and blood that is in a lot of anime and manga I wouldn't really consider many of them for children.

One of my friends overseas where it is already August 1st said that Manga Here is completely blocked for them. Already.

Well that's a pretty harsh generalization. Before you watch any anime, its always smart to look it up first, that way you can judge for yourselves on whether its content is pornographic or not. Besides, shotacon and lolicon animes are both illegal in the U.S., so if your watching an anime that has "child pornography" in it, then it really makes me question what kind of anime you were looking at in the first place. :/ Shame on you for not reading before you watch!
