Look I adore and love Kingdom Heart as much as the next guy,but the situation with chi is freakin ridiculous and stupid

 

 

So Nomura,KH chi(x)....a browser game that so far hasn't been localized or confirmed to be localized....yet it has crucial information that is needed to understand Kingdom Hearts 3??? ughhhh why? I just wanna know why

 

Why hide such crucial information for the series on a browser game that's only in Japanese?Not only this move is assbackward as all hell for veteran fans,but this method is so anti-newcomers and is a potential turn off for some people

 

Sure it won't be a problem for a veteran fan of the series,but a newcomer(which will especially happen with the Xbox One version) will have nooo idea WTF is the goddamn Tome of Prophecy is even if he bought the old entries in the series or WTF is going on in general and might just drop off the series instead of becoming a new fan

 

You have no idea how hard it is to get new people to try the series from the perspective of a new comer as most of people whom I tried to explain the plot either didn't understand because it's too convoluted or they might think it's total bullshit

 

And while we're at it.What is this tome of prophecy and if it's that incredibly important why didn't we bring it up until now?And who are those foretellers that Nomura could've at least shown in some way or another in either Birth by Sleep or Dream Drop Distance through either a secret scene or making them secret superbosses instead of seeking a browser game as an outside source for such huge and crucial details about the series's backstory

 

It reminds me of how Destiny had barely any story in it and how you need to go to Bungie's official site to read about it instead of finding it in the actual game?

Look I'm very excited for KH3 and I will buy it day one when it comes out,but you have to realize that it'll be hard for a newcomer to catch up with all of this and Nomura is making it even harder for them

 

I love rich and complicated stories myself.....but this is too much man you don't need to make KH into metaphorical version of Metal Gear since that is already too convoluted as it is and I can already imagine Sora and Solid Snake in a bar drinking beers and telling each either with a headache sign on their heads:"I can relate"

Well, how long has it been out? Likely they're trying to establish some American/Western servers for it, and then have been working hard on translations. I'm sure if they can set up some servers, then they'll announce a western release.

but yeah is kind of stupid do a canon game in japanese only.... i mean, i'm play it because i can know the story thanks to everglow's vids... (even if now i'm more ahead and i don't know what i'm doing LOL)

an half-stupid thing was DDD, released in europe only in english (i'm lucky 'cause i can understad it, but maybe other people no) for this one i speak in general, since i had purchased a 3DS for KH

Nomura said in his last interview (or perhaps the one before that) that because it is not canon, they are actively looking at ways so that everyone can understand it. AKA they are probably gonna localize it but they just aren't announcing it yet.

 

Anyone remember after the credits of 1.5 were seen and it teased 2.5? The response was: "yeah we teased it but we can't confirm if it's gonna happen." What happened soon after it was released in localized countries? 2.5 gets announced!

 

Now lets look at things this year: 2.5 has been released in japan and teases 3DHD as well as the importance of KH X[chi]. It just so happens that it releases in localized countries a little over 2 weeks before Jump Festa, where Square has previously announced KH games, teased them, shown new trailers, etc. The odds of this happening again are very high. I'm sure we will all get to play KH X eventually.

well, since Chi is only partially canon, i think that's the idea that Square has got swarming in their head. So they're probably thinking that it's not worth it to localize a game for the west in which only part of the game. Just a small part. Is canon.

 

So I guess that in KH3 they'll have a whole section or cutscene dedicated to explaining the whole "Tome of prophecy" and other canon stuff from Chi. 

 

OR MAYBE AN X ADAPTATION WILL BE THE GAME COMING AT US AT 2015 SINCE KH3 ISN'T COMING OUT NEXT YEAR. YOU KNOW. THE WHOLE "ONE KH GAME PER YEAR THING"

Most of the Ultimanias were only in Japan as far as I know and I doubt this will come to North America or Europe

You're forgetting the worst part of this: a game as crappy and boring as Chi is now canon. (And before anyone snaps on me, yes, I played it. I was hyped as heck for it, and made an account as soon as I could. And it was absolutely horrible. I wasted all of that time wading through Japanese and trying to figure everything out for no reason.)

I find this whole thing, kinda funny. We get it or not, makes no difference, I think it would be kinda interesting and create a depth of curiosity to want to know the secrets to Chi if we don't. It maybe up to us to figure out the missing pieces.

Yyyeah,I felt like if I delved deep into this fact that I might go insane.I tried to even watch a let's play of it and I got bored as soon as Darkside showed up

Pretty much,and the series is already convoluted as it is so I honestly don't know what would take Nomura to think of a simpler name FOR ONCE!I'm really tired of the pretentious naming they used in recent Final Fantasy games and I'm sure as hell won't tolerate it here

 

I know they already did time travel but honestly I don't want to see it again,won't mind Young Xehanort as supporting villain for Master Xehanort but that's as far as I want his role to go.I don't want to time travel to the past and undo events that already happened that would be stupid

 

As for the names Foretellers,don't ask me why but my mind jumped to Xenoblade Chronicles........won;t be surprised if Sora had a keyblade named the monado and shout:I'M REALLY FEELING IT

I got a better question: why the f*ck does a shitty game like Chi have info. that reveals stuff about III? Why can't this stuff just be in, you know, III?! Or at least be in something that's not Chi?

Sigh. This still feels like a needless rant to me.

 

Anyway, just because they aren't localizing it now doesn't mean they wont ever have ANY plans to bring the story of X to English speaking fans. The way I see it, Nomura is NOT going to keep other fans in the dark like you keep thinking he is. There are several ways that he can go about this.

 

1. He can localize X, but it will most likely be when X is developed enough for there to be a story to localize. Nomura probably wants the game to develop further before it gets translated for other players.

 

2. He can make a console port/remake/whatever or a cinematic collection. I think this is a little less likely, as it largely depends on how much there will be in this game once it is "complete", and they are still updating it. 

 

3. He could print the story into something like a manga, a novel, a short comic, something. The story itself is what we absolutely need. As long as the plot points that he is focusing on make it to other fans, then he needn't do anything else.

 

It's all largely based upon how Nomura wants to handle it. Either way, he does want to bring the story over to us, whether it's through a game or not is up to him. He's not stupid, he plans on bringing this to other fans in some way, he's just jumping the gun with us a little, that's all.

It would be released on iOS and Android.

While it doesn't necessarily have to be on those platforms, I do agree that they would be suitable choices if it doesn't remain a browser game should it become available to English fans.

At least the game is being translated. True fans will just watch the translated walkthroughs.
