When I saw Kingdom Hearts 3 - The Story Elements So Far (the one SuperSora x posted) it got my KH3 hype to totally new level. HMK made me realize KH3 is going to be really, really awesome game with all these things

People on this site don't like HMK because 95% of his theories are based on incorrect facts and he doesn't even source his information. To make matters worse people take those theories and come on here claiming his theories to be true and argue them as fact. Also when you go on his videos and try to point out his flaws he gets butthurt and tries to make you look like an idiot. I personally have him word for word interviews from Nomura sourced from this very site(which he has used as a source in the past) and his response was "those must be fake interviews don't come on my videos and think you know what you're talking about"

I tried to inform him that something he said was wrong. I was met with crazyness and disrespect. He didnt want to listen at all. He was just a suuuuuuper dick about it. 

 

Also, his voice drives me firetrucking crazy.

Exactly as a Kingdom Hearts theorist he has zero credibility. In fact the only theories I have ever found viable of his were his Zelda theories which is funny because that's like 5% of his content.

I have only seen couple of his theory-videos and everything seemed plausible enough. Maybe I need to replay all KH-games

He may have some kind of an attention problems, as it seems to be, but then again, theories are just theories, not facts.

If you are familiar with KH lore you plainly see where the facts are. Which could be fine but he argues them as facts.

Well I don't watch too many of his videos, so I wouldn't know for sure. But anyway, for me personally, I prefer hearing my news from a trusted website first. KH13.com is the first and often times only site where I ever go to look for new Kingdom Hearts news. I tend to avoid videos like HMK's like the plague, not because I don't agree with them or think they're dicks or anything, just because I don't really trust their info nearly as much as I trust the info of dedicated websites like our own. Sure, occasionally a video informer like HMK will talk about news that was covered from a site like this one, but most of the video's time tends to get taken up by their own speculations, theories, and opinions about the news and series itself. When it comes down to that, it's all just a matter of personal taste, and when it comes to hearing other peoples' opinions and ideas about the series, I tend to be kind of up-tight, because I'm usually in love with my own ideas about the series (kind of ashamed of it really, but it's how you express yourself that counts). So if the ideas of others tend to stray pretty far from what I believe in, I tend to loose interest or patience. So if most of the video just covers their opinions and ideas for what would make the gameplay and story of Kingdom Hearts III "perfect" or "right", then I'm not even going to bother to continue watching.

 

Basically the difference between news you hear from a website and news you hear from a video is the level of personality. A news site tends to tell things as they are and only inform you of what there is and leave enough room for open speculation, while not exactly imposing a direct idea or opinion on the reader. A video on the other hand, especially if it's meant to be a commentary video, tends to vary in how much information is told and often gets laced with the creator's own train of thought and ideas, where it kind of reeks of his own opinion rather than it being open to interpretation. I'm not saying all videos are like that (and again, I don't watch HMK nearly as much as you guys do), but I am saying that this is a pattern and trend I tend to notice a lot, and it's the main reason why I usually go to youtube for entertainment purposes and let's plays, not for information, unless it's a good user that I trust.

 

As for HMK himself, I don't know that much about the guy or his videos, but from the sounds of things about how people talk about him, I think it's probably a mess that I would rather not get involved in. It's nice to know that I'm not the only one sick of IGN's BS ways of covering things, but beyond that I wouldn't trust any one person to deliver the news to me, not when a site like this requires efforts from several users at once and yields more promising results. None of you guys are wrong for watching and enjoying HMK, but the only thing I would urge of you is that you don't go to him as your primary source of information in regards to things KH related. You're better off looking stuff up here first and then looking up the latest video by him and forming your own interpretations based upon that and your own opinions. Just don't follow everything that one person says, as it tends to get very opinionated and it can confuse you if you can't separate fact and opinion (though half of it is how the person presents the two also).

And I agree completely, honestly. I always come here for the news first before I go to people like HMK, Cynical, Skywardwing etc. I like their take on it but, for the pure and simple information, KH13 is the place to be. I don't dislike or hate Squirting and devereauxr at all but, I prefer your attitude to this situation.

It's not about having a biased opinion but rather our personal experiences speak for the bulk of the people who dislike him. I don't feel that pointing out that there is reasoning to why people on here dislike him was biased or uncivil in any manner. Considering he'll dismiss this very site as a credible source when it suits his argument I stand by what I said before.

One does not simply post a HMK video

Nomura is the one creating this shit - he should know !.HMK refuses to admit the flaws in his theories or when he's wrong . He still doesn't get that Ven's heart wasn't the reason Sora wields despite the fact Nomura himself said Sora inherited NOTHING .All of HMK 's theories are full of holes and misconceptions yet people who don't know any better believe his crap and then come on here and we have to help correct them and show them interviews or other proof like in game material videos to fix the damage . UGH!

I must admit, I have noticed a rather large sudden increase in the amount of new members coming to this site that, well, for lack of a better and kinder way of saying it, don't quite seem to know what they are talking about, or have been getting most of their info from second-hand sources like youtube videos. I'm not naming names because it's nobody's fault and it's not something that should be condemned, it's just kind of an inconvenience to have to explain things to a newcomer who hasn't been keeping up or just got into everything, especially if their grammar and writing skills aren't quite up to par. And not all of them follow the likes of HMK, at least, as far as I know, they just haven't been in the loop as long as everybody else has, and as a result, depending on how much patience you have, explaining things gets kind of tedious.

I spend too much time on YouTube and usually I notice the latest news from there. Of course I'm always going to come here to see what it is all about, but watching news on YouTube is easier if I don't have that much time or I don't have an access to computer. (This site is literally killing my phone's web browser D: )

Well just remember, the amount of effort you put in to finding something out tends to yield a result that matches that effort. So if all you have time for is something quick and convenient like youtube, you'll get what's equivalent of cliff notes about what you should be on the lookout for. If everybody on youtube is giving their impressions on this one thing, then maybe afterwords you should look up some more legit news-centric articles on sites like this one. The main trick is tiering your sources in levels of reliability and use, so as long as you come out more informed in the end, anything you do can work well. I think you guys are off pretty fine since you both look up the news here eventually anyway, but if you want to write theory articles and such, I would suggest you base it more off of what you've looked up and gathered rather than just having a video by HMK or somebody else do the talking for you, because some people on this site don't want to have to go through the effort of having to sit through three sets of 3 to 10 minute videos consisting of commentary by someone they may not be familiar with or agree with that much. If you feel it necessary though, I would suggest no more than one video of a reasonable length. But these are all suggestions, your judgement is your call.

Because not everyone who hangs on youtube belong to sites or visit sites where interviews are available and discussion is available to see what is really the correct information . They go strictly by one source - youtube.  That's the problem .They don't do research to see if that info is correct . They just assume it is bc he says so .

The only real issue here is how newcomers come to learn more about a series. Just in my view (so make of it what you will...or don't  ), a newcomer to the series looking towards youtube users covering things with speculation heavy videos is like a family who can barely make ends meet having to go to McDonalds for daily nutrition. It's not necessarily the best choice but they aren't that well informed before hand so how are they supposed to know the difference between a "good" source and a "not-so-good" source? The real trick is in trying to find a way to inform them that there are better sources to go to before they become to attached to a particular "face" of any one side of a fanbase...or, just let people make their own choices, I know that I wouldn't want to be told what to do. It's just good to let people know that there are more options out there. 

There are few things I must point out. Contrary to what most HMK's fans think, we don't hate him.. We just kind of feel bad for him, for his attitude. You see, HMK is the perfect instance of how NOT to grow a informative/speculative YouTube channel. He's misinformed, full of himself, careless of others' opinions and definitely rude with commentators. Not to mention that his talking is just soporific.. I feel you, Squirting. He always imposes his ideas, claiming they're based on "facts" that really aren't facts at all. I personally haven't even tried to comment his videos, ever. I know it would be all useless, because he always act like a slut when someone points out his theories don't hold water. I don't know how can others from KH13.com even try to reason with him.. they must be heroes, I love them even though it's all useless as stated before. What else could I say on the matter, he just thinks he can teach others because "he knows things".... I don't know about you, but I don't take any Kingdom Hearts lesson from someone who compiled a theory entitled "Xehanort is good theory". That, and because of his attitude in general. Now just think about it, we're not the bad guys who hate the "famous" one for jealousy or whatnot. We'll never say you cannot follow him, we just like to inform you about this stuff. Now that you know, it's up to you to decide. Just know that you, yes, YOU, might be the very next one to fall in his web of butthurt hatred

Thanks to this thread, I have decided to unsubscribe from him, in case i fall pray to his false information. I don't hate him either, but it's disconcerting, especially when I was a huge fan of his.
