Did they seriously not even bother to change their voices for the English release?    Even though....you know, they re-hired those same actors for the new scenes...

I swear, you seem to be actively looking for things to dislike about this game. Might just not be for you, neh?

 

Anyway, it's a bit of a bummer, but I'm sure they had their reasons. It's often less cost effective to hire voice actors for shorter periods, for one. Still gonna be fun to play.

Is it like this for all the datas and absents?

Just want to clarify something. The person who's doing that particular Let's Play is doing so using the English data on the Japanese disc via a hack. The English data on the Japanese disc is incomplete. I actually found the Zexion Absent Silhouette battle from a new European Let's Play, and it's definitely Vincent Corazza doing Zexion here:

In short, it looks like we have the proper English battle voices for the Absent Silhouettes after all. 

I couldn't possible care about the voice acting as long as it's a great game, and KH is a great game

That's not the English release of the game.

Holy crap that's awesome!

I know having the English voice actors for the Absent Silhouettes is a minor thing, but I really like that they took the time to do it. The old sounds made by those particular members were just a bunch of laughs and grunts anyway, so it wouldn't really have mattered, but nevertheless, good job SE!

I kinda wish they had thrown some of the actual dislodge battle quotes in there as well, such as Zexion yelling "See my Illusion!" or "Your memories shall be mine!" like he does in Re:Com, but like I said, its a minor thing.

And here's the Larxene silhouette battle with Shanelle Gray's battle grunts. Like the Zexion one, this is from a European release of 2.5, which still uses the English voice acting:

 

I already have my hands on the game and have battled against two absent Sillhouettes now, and they used the English voices.

Wow, I doubted they would actually dub the CoM fights, that's wonderful, though I'm gonna miss Larxene's psycho laugh...
