Just please......give Final Fantasy to Mistwalker or Monolith Soft

Maybe then we'd get good FF games, just like in the old days...

It would be ironic if Monolith got the series, considering Square screwed them over in the past. They'd be the ones saving Square's big franchise.

Which is funny considering that the creators of Xenoblade, which by many considered the best JRPG of the past generation(alongside Ni no Kuni),most of them are former Square employees

Basically it's this:Xenoblade>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Every FF game since X-2

Exactly. They left because Square wouldn't let them make a sequel to Xenogears. It's a good thing Monolith Soft left, otherwise we wouldn't have great games like Xenoblade.

I was sooooo happy when I saw the words "Not a remake"Sorry, but I hate it that the most vocal fans keep begging for a remake and crap all over everything Square makes that isn't FFVII HD before even looking into it simply because of the fact that it isn't FF VII HD. Just like the KH fan base does with every game that isn't KH III.

let's be honest, f they remade FFVII it'd just make everyone remember the original game wasn't anything special

It is in HD.

Nah, they'd just hate on Toriyama again.

Good FF games is highly subjective term. Personally I thoroughly enjoyed XII and I'm having a blast with XIV. In fact, the consistency between FF I - X is pretty hit and miss for everyone. From the games I've played (which is everything bar III, V, VIII & X) only IV, VI and IX were ones I thought were any good. The problem with fans of Square Enix now is they expect quality titles from the old days while riding the nostalgia train. While I cannot defend the abomination that was the XIII series, their handling of XV so far or even their charade with smartphones, I can at least acknowledge good titles like Type-0, Dissidia and even the amount of effort that went into fixing XIV. Is SE perfect? No not at all.

I'm not sure it's possible for Monolith to even work on a FF game given their current situation with Nintendo, but even if it were possible I think I'd prefer if they'd stick to creating their own RPG series. Xenoblade has a lot of potential and X is just.... well, it so far looks outstanding.

So right...

I must be in the minority, but the only main series game I've found remotely enjoyable since VII was IX. It's not even nostalgia, considering I only got into the series 4 years ago. I'll acknowledge Dissidia and Theatrhythm as good games, but everything else has ranged from "Meh" to outright terrible for me, and I know others would agree.I'm not saying Monolith should get the series, I just pointed out how ironic that would be. I think Mistwalker deserves it if anything.

I'm not surprised that they aren't remaking Final Fantasy VII, though it does make me wonder what Kitase and Toriyama are working on...

Personally, i think they hate the fans. Not making a remake is one thing. teasing us, then pulling a bull**** stunt like that is just UNFORGIVEABLE!

I think its perfect. People need to get off their high horse depiction of what makes a good FF game. What better way than to make them realize that they think something is sooo good they'll buy it every time; even if its just a constant stream of repeated ports. People are so blinded by this shit that its just now hitting them and the purchased the same game 5 or 6 times.

You see, Dice tried to do this with Battlefield Hardline and no one wanted that shit. So Dice fixed the problm. SE can do this and get away with it because fans are so pathetically in love with this broken image of FFVII they believe buying it over and over again changes something, but it doesnt.

If Sakaguchi ever got his hands on FF again that would be the most hilarious thing ever.
