I don't know why it get so much hate. I know there's some glitches in the game. But it's not game breaking. The story isn't bad at all. There's some moments where the story shocked me. The game play is decent. Still, there's nothing wrong with the game. The people who say this game is worse than Busby 3d is probably hates Sonic like Arin.

Well compared to Boom, '06 isn't as bad as it use to be. At least '06 had superior memorable music. 

I didn't think it was as terrible as everyone made it out to be, but it's not that great of a game either. My worst gripe with it was the map. I really wish there had been a way to access the map other than entering/exiting an area. It made it really annoying to try and navigate. And apparently there is a game breaking glitch that my brother encountered toward the end of the game where he would fall off the map and die every time he hit this spot that he HAD to hit to progress the story.

I agree on everything except the Elise kissing Sonic bit, didn't like that.

I agree, this game isn't that bad at all. However, with the problems it came across during it's creation: Nintendo wanting a game for the Wii, Microsoft wanting a port of the game for the 360, and the team not fully working on Sonic 06, it was bound to fail. However, it did have a decent story line and, even up to today, has some of the most memorable music from the Modern Sonic era.

It IS as bad as everyone says it is, BUT it's still possible to enjoy the game. It all depends on what you appreciate and how you go about it. There are many reasons for why the game turned out the way it did, but the point is that it is what it is, and it's up to each player to determine what their experience will be like.

I really don't think it's debatable that this game is terrible...and this is coming from someone who was the BIGGEST Sonic fan back in the day.  Like nearly KH-level obsessed as a kid.

 

It has some small glimmers of hope, like in its story and music--but all in all, it's just a horrible game.  The beginning of Sonic's downfall in my opinion.  I just can't believe they outdid themselves making a game that's even worse with Sonic Boom...blows my mind D:

Thank you!!! Finally I'm not the only one who didn't think Sonic 06 was a bad game. Honestly in my opinion Sonic 06 is actually my third favorite Sonic game. My first favorite is Sonic Adventure 2 and my second is Sonic Adventure. Plus Sonic 06 had awesome music!

Sonic's story is pretty boring, but Shadow and Silver's stories are really interesting! It's very difficult because of the glitches, but it's no impossible to play. And it's long and Sonic-like, not like Boom...  Plus, the music is godlike, it's my favourite soundtrack of the series.

Eh, it's fun to play. Story really wasn't that bad, but it did have some plot holes. Glitches were pretty bad, kept dying when not touching anything. But I liked it.

This is why we can't have nice things. The game is garbage and I'm going to stick to that belief til the day I die, just as you have the right to think its gods gift to the franchise, but until "fans" are able to comprehend what made the original 3d sonic's "good" instead of thinking 3d sonic=good, we aren't going to get a decent sonic game (except generations, but it kind of doesn't count because it was pure rehashed content) because developers will constantly be asking the lowest common denominator...who am I kidding, nine year old children, their true target audience, what should be in the game? is the game fun? kids who have never even played 2d sonic's much less either adventures will be determining how the older players get to play. Anyway, sonic needs to get retired or they need to stop catering to little kids who will literally play anything you put in front of them.
